Glad to see someone else appreciates a Bonfire of the Damned on a stick. I still run Balefire Dragon in a Gruul dragons deck, and also did in Naya Midrange til I replaced it with Gisela, Blade of Goldnight . Double damage is my friend. Especially miracled Bonfires after she's on the field. :)

No, you've got this all wrong in your Naya Midrange deck. Run both of them at the same time! Who cares about mana curves?! Every turn, Balefire Dragon hits your opponent in the face for an amount of damage calculated thusly:

d=2(6+k-b)

Where d is damage dealt, k is the amount you pay for Kessig Wolf Run 's ability and b is the toughness of the blocker. Balefire then proceeds to beat creature face. The formula for that amount of damage is this:

d=4(6+k-b)

That's lots of damage.

That aside, cheers for the upvote and what not. Is there any way to make groups on this site? If there is, we should start a Balefire Dragon fan club. Or is that a bit too far?

I'm probably part of it already, I'm like the resident Sarkhan Vol around here. The Naya deck is more built around ETB shenanigans, and I only allowed myself one 7cc bomb. I sent Balefire Dragon to the SB for shits and giggles. Plus I fear the possible early game colored mana screw of using 4 Kessig Wolf Run , which would be just my luck.

I guess the Hellkite Tyrant is aggainst affinity decks, but isn't he too slow? - I mean:

Turn 1: Forest, Birds of Paradise

Turn 2: Mountain, Somberwald Sage

Turn 3: Hellkite Tyrant

Turn 4: Attack! (Too slow?)

In most cases you will die sooner (Arcbound Ravager , etc.)..

Creeping Corrosion is good.

Not necessarily. Often, a 6/6 flyer can scupper the plans of any pesky affinity decks trying to swing for lethal damage. I just block his biggest attacker. In times of real emergency, I just wipe his board with Creeping Corrosion .

What could be replaced or left to reduce the all round price?

Remove Stomping Ground as they aren't hugely necessary. If you do, take out the Farseek and replace them with Rampant Growth . If the price is still a bit too high, Bonfire of the Damned can be removed and replaced by Devil's Play . It isn't as good, but it does nicely as removal and a finisher. As a last resort, if you really want to push the price down even more, remove Primeval Titan and replace them with another 6-drop such as Vigor , or whatever 6-drop strikes your fancy. However, the Primeval Titan should only be replaced if you really have to. They are key for digging up my Kessig Wolf Run and allow me to pump loads of mana into my mana dumps.
