Well I decided I wanted to build a delver deck. but U/W has never been my style. I did U/R back as my very first deck, and I wanted something relatively cheap.

So I decided to build RUG. I basically looked at a couple of top tier RUG delver decks in Legacy and tried to find somewhat similar cards. That didn't work lol. There is no Daze or force of will in standard or anything really equivalent.

So instead I decided to just take some basic fundamentals used for modern/legacy becks. Spells that are above the curve, cards that are versatile, and low cost creatures.

Before you look to hard at the deck, it was built with a budget of about 5 tix along with come commons i already had. As for how well it performs, I have played 1 U/W delver and 5 B/R zombies. I lost to 1 zombie and the rest were wins. The deck requires some very tight play.

Blessings of Nature : I really didn't want to put this in the deck at first. But I was experimenting and decided to give it a shot. There has not been a time I wasn't happy to have it in my hand and I have yet to miracle it. It bridges the gap between early and mid game very well and takes any 1 creature and makes it sizable. Though this will probably be replaced with Rancor once m13 hits just for the lessened chance for a 2for1 for my opponent.

Ranger's Guile: Pretty much the faith's shield of the deck but also works to deal a slight bit more damage.

Wolfbitten Captive   : I have no clue why this card is a bulk rare. This thing is an all star of all stars. I mean its no secret how good Basking Rootwalla is, this guy is at least similar.

Arc Trail: I think that the meta currently is more suited to this card than it was the last time this saw standard play (grixis in inni). I have yet to use it without it being a 2 for 1.

Stormblood Berserker : Simple. 3/3 evasion for 2 mana.

Skinshifter : This card is versatility on crack. No more needed.

Galvanic Blast and Incinerate : Removal or damage when needed. Close a game faster or clear a path.

Post m13 would lose ponder, skinshifter, Leak, and incinerate. Ponder would be replaced by Index as that just smooths out draws so well. Leak would be replaced by negate most likely as cavern of souls spoils creature counter too much to risk the other counter. Disperse would do fair in this slot as well. Skinshifter is truely a sad thing to see go. Would probably replace it with Flinthoof Boar which coincidentally would also replace stormblood. Then again Quirion Dryad would be a tad ridiculous as well. But enough speculation

Sideboard is pretty iffy right now. Most of the time it just brings in disperse/vines, to handle swords, aborration, and aristorcrat.

Record so far in the "tournament practice" que in Mtgo.
Deck: Win/Loss
U/W Delver : 3/2
U/G infect: 2/1
B/R Zombies: 4/1
Solar Flare: 3/0

Those are the only decks I've come across online so far. 5 delver, 3 infect, 5 zombies, and 3 solar flare. The deck is doing very well. Solar flare was only somewhat challenging because it leaves vapor snag dead for a lot of the game, May have to put some ranger's guile in the sideboard so i can make it a 4 of when needed.

For now here are the changes:
Mainboard: None
Sidboard: -3 Ancient Grudge +3 Bramble Crush

My results in game showed me that 4 removal spells for artifacts tended to be enough. Swords weren't usually a big deal because i can almost always bounce or kill the equip target until I get a crushing vines. However, infect enchantments and the occasional spirit mantle on Geist showed that some enchantment removal was needed. Disperse helps but not nearly enough typically.

Bramblecrush filled the slot of spell removal. The high cost and sorcery speed are just barely negated by being the most versatile card in my sideboard. Removes planeswalkers, lands, enchantments, and gear. Along with crushing vines it helps the most difficult matchup (infect).

Let me explain crushing vines. It is not there to be just artifact removal. This deck was built with Legacy style in mind meaning everything must be as useful as possible. The 1 extra mana for this over grudge gives me the option of hitting delver, inkmoth, resto angel, and aristocrat. as well as anything paired with wingcrafter in those rogue decks. Instant speed makes it an allstar and it has come in for the majority of my matches and typically is partnered with Daybreak Ranger  Flip to control the board.

And the daybreak ranger. This card is a rediculous sideboard. Again it deals with every threat mentioned above but angel, and once it flips it deals with angel as well. This card is basically permenant removal. If it flips its ability can kill the majority of creatures in standard with 1 r for cost.
