Looking at Varina, her competitive advantages are: zombies attacking, a full graveyard, and discarding for value. To utilize these advantages I am going an unorthodox route through tribal cycling. Cycling has been a mechanic in a few sets now so there is quite the variety to choose from. How I chose mine were mainly instants and sorceries, ones that maximize interaction with my opponents, and as even of a spread amongst the colors as possible.

As a foreward: I have no interest in playing Zur the Enchanter because of his cEDH reputation, I don't want a tutor in the command zone, and I like the ability to turn our full graveyard into zombie tokens.

We have a plethora of categories but the main idea is we want to answer problems when we can and cycle when we do not need to. Once we get Varina out we can take advantage of our loaded graveyard by exiling cards for zombie tokens to further our card advantage and beat-down strategies. As this occurs we want to get down one of cycling-payoffs for further value such as draining life, more tokens, blinking threats, or putting -1/-1 counters on our opponents' creatures.

Our win conditions can come from cycling storm via Fluctuator or New Perspectives + Faith of the Devoted , co.; going wide with Zombie token + Wonder or Angelic Skirmisher ; or Approach of the Second Sun which can easily be dug for if our engine is running.

I have only been able to play this a few times due to time constraints but I have enjoyed it so far. An EDH list is never truly finished so any feedback to improve is welcome!
