I have decided that I need to advertise on each of my decks the things that I am looking to acquire for each deck and, if you are a trader who has what I am looking for, feel free to look at my Binder.

I am looking for Greater Good.

Added foils and added Patron of the Orochi to the decklist. I also swapped Taunting Elf for a more durable Golgari Decoy .

I find birds a bit lackluster here. This is mostly elfball that uses Omnath, Locus of Mana as a battery for explosive plays. TBH I'd rather get Llanowar Elves in here over Birds of Paradise because Elvish Archdruid /Priest of Titania /Wirewood Channeler are dependent on the # of elves.

April 20, 2013 1:47 p.m.

Human_Rogue_21 says... #4

Hhmm. I didn't take that into consideration. that's a great point! I am currently in the middle of making an Omnath EDH myself. When it is finished, if I posted a link here would you mind giving me some feedback? And a +1 from me.

Of course! But keep in mind that my playstyle will probably vary from what you want to do.

Skyshroud Poacher is an amazing elf that I just discovered. Surely it has a place in your deck?

April 21, 2013 12:40 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #7

Ahhhh yes. I only have one concern with him though. At 4 cmc there aren't really many elves worth searching for. On the other hand the ones worth hunting for are VERY powerful and includes a Vedalken Orrery . I'll add it to my list of "to buy".

April 21, 2013 12:58 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #8

Had to give up my Blightsteel Colossus to my fiance's deck I Fight For the Users!.

Added Skyshroud Poacher to hunt, primarily for Yeva, Nature's Herald .

Wow. I've never thought of Aluren for an Omnath, Locus of Mana deck. That's just plain stupid.

June 3, 2013 8:55 a.m.

SplodyCopter says... #12

Do you ever use Elvish Piper for value? I run Ezuri, Renegade Leader elfball, and I had one in there, and I always found myself using my mana to cast spells, especially when Elvish Piper almost never has haste.

Of course, Omnoms saves mana. So you won't have a surplus ever. So I can see the difference there.

August 12, 2013 7:28 p.m.

It's an instant/sorcery which stalls out my Primal Surge . Also, I've never been a huge fan of Overrun effects in omnath EDH anyway.

i know that it isn't an elf but what about Eternal Witness ?

August 12, 2013 7:59 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #18

you know, My reason for not having her in here at first was the "I don't own one and I'm too lazy tor buy one" excuse. Now that I own a few I might add her. What would you remove?

August 12, 2013 8:02 p.m.

miracleHat says... #19

to be honest, i would drop Giant Adephage , i have just never been a fan of it and it can be killed kind of easily (Doom Blade effects), or Garruk Wildspeaker . i have never been a fan of either card.

how does Primal Surge work for you? I feel that without a way to win the turn you cast it (i.e. global haste for your creatures or a combo), 1 wrath effect would just end the game for you if you didnt have a Praetor's Counsel in hand or an Elixir of Immortality effect to reset things for you.

Sorry Exploration

November 15, 2013 12:10 a.m.

Have you thought about Nylea, God of the Hunt ? Most of the time it will be a creature, and it will give Omnath trample.

December 3, 2013 10:48 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #25

I have, and I want to include her. Problem is access to her. Right now I don;t have one lol. As soon as I can I will add her.

December 3, 2013 11:23 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #27

Also, since I haven't been on this decklist in a while. Eddelweiss Exploration doesn't really interest me because I am not trying to get multiple land drops. My aim is to get mana via mana dorks. The only reasons Oracle of Mul Daya is here is she counts towards my elf count and she facilitates my "combo" with Garruk's Horde and Soul of the Harvest /Primordial Sage . (Combo in that I can cast a creature, then draw a card and I can either play off of topdeck or out of hand. Oracle of Mul Daya helps to filter lands out in the early stages of this process.)

Ohthenoises says... #28

Recent updates! added Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx , Umbral Mantle , and Ring of Three Wishes . Thoughts?

December 15, 2013 1:55 p.m.

miracleHat says... #29

not a fan of wishy ring. I prefer Planar Portal , though there isn't much else that does what ring does. perhaps you want to have more creature tutors! Wild Pair and Fauna Shaman are pretty nice!

December 15, 2013 2:20 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #30

Droxium the tutor artifacts are here to tutor out Primal Surge and my other sorceries. I'm not so concerned with creature tutors because I already have Eye of Ugin , Green Sun's Zenith , and Skyshroud Poacher .

Yes, the ring kinda sucks but if I have 20 mana (easily done) I can cast the Ring of Three Wishes and then activate it, find Primal Surge , and cast it.

It's hard to find sorcery tutors in G.

December 15, 2013 2:25 p.m.

miracleHat says... #31

also, since you run Snow-Covered Forest s, why not Scrying Sheets ? also, Boreal Druid is an elf that allows for a turn 2 omnath (at least, that is what i would try to do every game). though it doesn't tutor for sorceries, how good would Birthing Pod do in here.

December 15, 2013 2:29 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #32

My usual problem with a T2 Omnath, Locus of Mana is that he usually eats a T2 removal since there are very few threats out by that time. If I wanted to go that route I'd add Llanowar Elves and Elvish Mystic over Boreal Druid since they produce G.

I REALLY need to just get Scrying Sheets . I've been meaning to and just keep forgetting.

Birthing Pod might be interesting. Let me mess with the paper version of this, reordering the stuff and see what comes from it.

December 15, 2013 2:33 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #33

After laying out the deck I have to say that Birthing Pod sounds good however there's really not much I'd like to pod into or out of. If I were to add it I think I'd have to revamp the whole creature base.

December 15, 2013 2:38 p.m.

criture says... #34

What are you thoughts on Nylea, God of the Hunt and Craterhoof Behemoth ? nylea is a free give your guys trample and a mana sink if you need it, and craterhoof can just win games.

December 28, 2013 9:32 a.m.

Ohthenoises says... #35

I had already discussed Nylea, God of the Hunt and Craterhoof Behemoth .

Nylea was only not included because I didn't have one laying around, since then I removed Acidic Slime for her.

Craterhoof was not included because when I use Primal Surge I can't control WHEN he hits the battlefield. It's the same reason why Wolfbriar Elemental was removed.

Fauna Shaman as an extra survival? or as a replacement to it?

January 24, 2014 12:01 a.m.

jpgcoleman says... #38

You seem to be heavy in the 4CC slot and your 1 and 2 slots are light on mana acceleration. Your late game is bonkers but I can tell the deck has some slow starts. I see a lot of people catching onto Gaea's Touch pretty nice for droping land quick then providing a 2 mana boost.

January 30, 2014 1:14 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #39

So, what to replace Sylvan Primordial ?

February 3, 2014 1:25 a.m.

jpgcoleman says... #40

These are the cards that would be top on my list to replace.

Elvish Piper - To fragile

Keeper of Progenitus - Not really a big fan of boosting up opponents mana base. Vernal Bloom is fine because it effects the narrowest band of decks

Aluren - I think that the abuse potential for opponents is to high similar to the keeper

Skyshroud Poacher - There are just better tutors than this guy and ones that are cheaper and don't limit you to elves

I would always keep Sylvan Primordial

February 7, 2014 5:49 p.m.

miracleHat says... #41

I would replace Sylvan Primordial with Terastodon , for extra blowing up permanents.

February 7, 2014 6:06 p.m.

jpgcoleman says... #42

Good point. Terastodon can be back breaking. If you had to choose that I would go with Terastodon.

TheWholeDavid says... #44

How about Polukranos, World Eater ?

Just started building a deck very similar to this. Polukranos is what I replaced Sylvan Primordial with. Also, Karametra's Acolyte could work well here. Also, what about Primeval Titan ? It can go get the Eye of Ugin .

Magus of the Candelabra combos really well with the doubling cards.

Mind's Eye and Harmonize are good for drawing, as well as Tower of Fortunes

February 17, 2014 8:21 p.m.

TheWholeDavid says... #45

A lot of people like Overgrowth , Wild Growth , Utopia Sprawl , Urban Burgeoning , etc. in this sort of deck. What do you think of these?

February 17, 2014 8:25 p.m.

TheWholeDavid says... #46

Also, Gaea's Cradle if you have infinite funds :-)

PrimeTime is banned in EDH

February 17, 2014 8:54 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #49

Lots of ground to cover so I'll keep things short.

Polukranos, World Eater seems good, I'll test with this.

If I wanted to take advantage of Karametra's Acolyte I would have more things like Khalni Hydra and Primalcrux . Also, not an elf.

As YerpyMoose said, Primeval Titan is banned in EDH.

Magus of the Candelabra Not an elf and it takes 2-3 other cards to make him worthwhile. Also needs to be protected.

Mind's Eye and Tower of Fortunes are expensive for their abilities.

Harmonize has no harmony with Primal Surge .

I currently have a ton of card draw. Regal Force would be my first go to if I ever find myself wanting.

Overgrowth , Wild Growth , Utopia Sprawl , and Urban Burgeoning get blown out by any kind of targeted LD. Not fun.

Awakening I'm ok with people getting extra mana from some of my stuff. Allowing a control deck to tap out every turn for counter magic however is very not good.

February 18, 2014 9:22 a.m.

RedZebra says... #50

Gotta replace Sylvan Primordial now. A stupid ban imo but bans are bans. :/

February 18, 2014 1:13 p.m.

kaulfield says... #51

No voltaic key?

March 6, 2014 8:03 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #52

Voltaic Key only untaps once. I'd prefer to have repeatable untap effects and I'd rather have untap effects to untap mana dorks.

The only thing the Key really does is Doubling Cube and Gilded Lotus and that isn't all that attractive.

March 6, 2014 9:58 p.m.

A great card for this deck would be Staff of Domination . It takes one more mana to go infinite than Umbral Mantle or Sword of the Paruns , but when it does you also get infinite life, can draw your entire deck if you want to, and can tap out all of your opponent's creatures.

August 18, 2014 1:53 p.m.

SantaGremlin says... #54

Rancor . Trample for your commander.

August 31, 2014 4:36 a.m.

DomRedhawk says... #55

Love it, +1. Currently building a similar style Omnath deck myself. Elfball ramp into some nasty X spells/creatures. Considered the Primal Surge route but found it too limiting. Been considering a Liege of the Tangle as an alternate wincon. What are your opinions on the card?

I'd recommend you try out Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury, Alpha Authority and possibly Dictate of Karametra for your deck =).

November 24, 2014 6:03 p.m.

ShadowAura says... #56

The only issue I see with Liege of the Tangle is that if a wrath effect gets cast, all of your lands vanish. However, with that being said, time to play Devil's Advocate.... I like playing Nissa, Worldwaker because she can pull out lands as well as make them all creatures, allowing you to never get stalled out on mana and to thin for some win-cons. But again... that leaves for so much wrath effect... Maybe when the new set comes out, work on getting the green Siege. Each of your main phases, you get two green mana into your pool for Omnath, Locus of Mana to devour.

My playgroup tends to run a lot of board wipes and in big mana decks i have had great success with Soul of New Phyrexia. It seems like it would be especially powerful with Omnath's ability to store mana over turns.
