Rishkar's Counter Army

Commander / EDH

FrogDaddy

Maybeboard

Rishkar ramps by spreading counters, setting up beefy creatures while creating tons of mana. This deck is shockingly consistant. Tons of fun and very fast to play. I always see people widen their eyes with the combos I can do, and then I either win spectacularly or lose while everyone commends it. Semi-Budget!

The end goal is to ramp out, get a tutor or cheat like Tooth and Nail or Green Sun to get Avenger or Craterhoof or both and destroy everyone on the table immediately. The long term goal is lasting until you draw a tutor by beefing up your dorks and other creatures into strong creatures that can block or attack. A lot of the card draw synergy works with the amount of counters or creatures. There is a draw+destroy combo with Ivy Lane+Woodfall Primus+Greater Good.

Using Panharmonicon and Paradox Engine is absolutely hilarious.

Version 4.0: v3.0 made a lot of big changes and expensive additions but made the deck that much more consistent and also more adaptive to threats. V4.0 will see the final few changes to the deck, quality of life and others. I don't think I'll ever get myself something like Gaea's Cradle, but maybe Yavimaya Hollow.

CONSIDERING:

-Lurking Predators: The potential combo between Mirri's Guile and this is hilarious. The only problem is that it is a 6cmc card

-Asceticism: Good extra layer of protection on my creatures

-Yavimaya Hollow: Expensive but some extra layer of protection just in case I don't have any board protections.

-Genesis Wave: Nothing to say here, huge pay off if I can get good amounts of mana

-Vorinclex: Another big pay off card that can annoy the shit out of my opponents

-Retreat to Kazandu: Big pay off in the early game.

MIGHT BE REMOVING:

Very likely going to remove Animation Module. Its just not as good as Durable Handicraft. Might replace it with Retreat

CHANGELOG:

-Contagion Clasp with Spike Weaver. Contagion Clasp was great fun but...rarely was seen in my play testing, 4 cost proliferate is fine if there are already counters around. It was good but not enough. Spike Weaver is a card I just discovered and holy crap does it save my ass sometimes. THe ability to take only 1 counter and fog is insane. Also comes as a reliable counter spreader.

-Farhaven Elf for Scooze. Farhaven Elf is a strictly worse Wood Elves, giving me a tapped land instead of an untapped one. I don't need this much ramp and cutting some ramp has been a priority right now, so I am exchanging it for Scooze. Scooze brings a lot to the table, I can pump it up with counters which synergizes with the rest of my deck and hate on some graveyard cards and gain some life. Lots of utility.

-Forest with Dryad Arbor: Its just good and I can fetch it easily in case I need mana.
