Maybeboard

Based on creatures with Riot to provide haste and/or more power, while leveraging cards that provide more riot stacks and bonuses to non human creatures. The deck attempts to trade with stronger creatures until it starts to ramp up. You can theoretically have up to 6 riot stacks on a creature in this deck (4x Rhythm of the Wild 1x Domri, Chaos Bringer 1x Natural Riot). Realistically you usually have 2-3 stacks, still making the creatures worth more in value when played later.

A good starting hand might have 3 land with one being a Forest , Arboreal Grazer , and Rhythm of the Wild or Grumgully, the Generous . This lets you drop the Forest and Arboreal Grazer on turn 1 to put another land down, ideally Gruul Guildgate or Rugged Highlands . Then on turn 2 you can place the third land, and you'll be able to "start your engine" by placing Rhythm of the Wild or Grumgully, the Generous . If you can delay to turn 4 by playing Rhythm of the Wild on turn 2 and then Grumgully, the Generous on turn 3, this will set you up for the rest of the game. Grumgully, the Generous can be a 4/4 or have haste on turn 3, and whatever creature you play on turn 4 will have between +2/+2 to +4/+4 and/or haste depending how you spend riot and if the creature already has riot.

Deathtouch can be problematic for this deck since it relies on fewer but stronger creatures. If the defense of the deathtouch creature is 3 or less Jaya's Greeting can help remove it, if it's higher than 3 my only real option is Domri's Ambush . Another option if I have no choice would be to use the -2 loyalty counter on Domri, Anarch of Bolas with a weaker creature like Zhur-Taa Goblin or a slightly buffed Arboreal Grazer .

Attempting to keep this "Standard" legal to keep the card options limited, and if I ever want to play in a standard tournament.

I am also attempting to keep this a "budget" deck. I prefer buying kits and boosters to explore, experiment, and create something fun while still being effective. So I try to only buy key cards to supplement where needed, if they are not too expensive.

Originally used the Domri Planeswalker deck as a baseline since it had many riot creatures, but most of it has changed by now.

Once I reached 3-4 mana I would usually put land on the bottom of my library with the scy from Jaya's Greeting and the loyalty ability from Domri, Chaos Bringer in favor of more creatures. With this I was holding onto End-Raze Forerunners and my favorite giant chicken Wrecking Beastfoil most matches unless I had a mana flood and the game went on long enough. I replaced them with slightly cheaper cards so I could actually play them and retain late game presence.

1x Wrecking Beastfoil

2x End-Raze Forerunners

Replaced With...

1x Skarrgan Hellkite I have had good results with the one in the deck already since it will generally have +1/+1 counters in this deck. Being a flyer meant I could sometimes bypass enemy defenses for a final blow with haste.

2x Ravager Wurm I found the fight option to be useful, as it can sometimes help clear the board of a threat later in the game that I might have difficulties with my normal spells. Having riot meant I could buff it to fight better, or give haste to swing in the same turn if I can clear the board to present lethal.
