Riku of Tool(kit) Reflections (old location)

Commander / EDH RUG (Temur)

Genswift

Riku EDH deck. The goal of this deck is to overwhelm opponents with enter the battlefield effects. There is one mana generation combo piece in Palinchron, which combos with Riku of Two Reflections, Panharmonicon and Deadeye Navigator. Win-conditions include Tooth and Nail entwined for Purphoros, God of the Forge + Avenger of Zendikar, Rite of Replication, Comet Storm, Palinchron infinite mana and Craterhoof Behemoth. Panharmonicon and Parallel Lives are among the support cards that amplify ETB triggers. There is ample recursion in the deck (Eternal Witness and Greenwarden of Murasa), and ramp should be a non-issue.

Historically the biggest problem with the deck was card draw and mana-starvation for big plays. These issues have been addressed by adding in card draw engines like Consecrated Sphinx and Zendikar Resurgent, mana rocks and mana "doubling" enchantments.

The other stumbling point of the deck was actually killing opponents. This has been addressed with red powerhouse creatures (Specifically Bogardan Hellkite) and lots of small toolkit creatures that really add up when Craterhoof Behemoth rears his ugly head. Rite of Replication targeting any powerhouse creatures results in absolutely insane amounts of burn/combat damage with massive swings precluded with copious ETB triggers to swing the game into my favor. This is especially true when copying Rite of Replication with Riku of Two Reflections. Eleven of any of the scary creatures are almost a guaranteed kill. Panharmonicon would enable me to get double triggers off of whatever I decide to Rite of Replication.

The last stumbling block of the deck is resiliency to control strategies and removal. I have included a copy of Heroic Intervention to deal with pesky board wipes and spot removal.

I am always looking for ways to improve this deck so feel free to leave constructive comments and suggestions!

Updates Add

I have decided to take a few steps to make the deck far more competitive, and to make its synergy even more streamlined. I am stepping away from Temur good-stuff and heading back to a combo based deck. However the deck will be playable in both casual and competitive settings based on decisions made. For example, one can Mystical Tutor for a Tooth and Nail or one can Mystical Tutor for a ramp or otherwise "fun" spell. It will be my most competitive deck by far after the changes listed.

Countermagic is back in, removal and graveyard hate are added, and more instant kill wincons have been restored.
