Rhythm Pod is the Standard version of the potential Modern-usable and definite EDH staple card Prime Speaker Vannifar that is going to be released soon with Ravnica Allegiance. Rhythm Pod is a play on words used to describe the powerful combo that comes when you combine Prime Speaker Vannifar with the cards Rhythm of the Wild or Domri, Chaos Bringer . Rhythm of the Wild is the much more obvious route since it curves a ton more nicely into Prime Speaker Vannifar and, even more importantly, will also affect the creatures she tutors out. This allows for some very powerful value plays.

For those that don't know why Vannifar's effect is a big deal, it is a near copy of the effect given by Birthing Pod , which was a card used to great effect in the past. So much so that Birthing Pod had to be banned in Modern. The effect allows you to construct your deck in a very "tool box" like manner, allowing you to tutor up the exact creature you needed for the current situation. The main goal of a Pod deck is to slowly climb up the chain of converted mana costs among creatures in your deck until you tutor up a powerful game ending creature or use the tutor effect to assemble a game ending combo.

Without intense investigation, there aren't any competitive game ending combos in Standard right now like Modern and EDH that would work with Vannifar. So instead of the combo route, we are looking to go for the much tamer value route that allows us to dominate our opponent with value.

The game ending creature we want to be working towards is, of course, Carnage Tyrant . This giant boy is incredibly difficult to deal with for opponents and is a known threat by many. Very few underestimate him. While we make our way towards Carnage Tyrant, we want to be tutoring out creatures based on our needs. If our opponent is playing a strategy that revolves heavily around artifacts or enchantments, we want to use a Reclamation Sage to deal with their threat. If our opponent is focusing more on their graveyard, we want to tutor out a Deathgorge Scavenger and quickly exile what they want to using. If our opponent is using a lot of control options, we can tutor out both Dire Fleet Daredevil and Gruul Spellbreaker to negate and make use of their tools for our own benefit.

This deck is difficult to test alone as its a deck that is all about adapting to your match up. Without knowing the meta of Allegiance, its near impossible for the first Rhythm Pod build to be the one that works best. This deck is all about testing and adapting. This example is simply a likely blueprint for what it is likely going to somewhat look like. Change this list to better fit your own store meta or the general meta if it turns out this deck is strong enough to work at a highly competitive level.

TL;DR This deck is highly experimental and also highly likely to change over time.
