Running smoothly —Sept. 14, 2012

After picking up the Culling the Weak to replace Burnt Offering The speed of the deck increased. This helped in both a one vs one and a three person multiplayer. Even without the Grave Pact Out I was able to inflict substantial damage with natuko husk and Harvester of Souls early in the game. And after getting a Blood Artist I was able to suck the life from my opponents. The ability to return from the graveyard was running smoothly. Even with Planer Cleansing I was able to get most of my creatures back in a few turns. Pawn of Ulamog helped a lot with this. Giving me more mana to cast my return spells.

Viscera Seer is a nice 1 drop that lets you sacrifice and sort through your library as you go.

Ooh that would be nice. I will have to put that on the maybe board. I kind of want to cut the Skeletal Vampire s But that gives up to much air defense. I will have to put that one on the maybe board.

nice deck, you should replace Nantuko Husk with Bloodthrone Vampire .

ps: Dark Ritual rules xD

I was thinking about about side boarding the Bloodthrone Vampire I have an emotional attachment to the Nantuko Husk though. He has been a very good card for me through the years. It would be hard for me to cut him. I was thinking Culling the Weak for this deck and putting Dark Ritual in my zombies. Culling fits the strategy and feel of the deck. Plus its one extra mana :D I just have to get my hands on them. Going to the card store soon crossing my fingers they have the cards I want.

Bloodflow Connoisseur keeps the buffs you feed her. also for a combo of damage and life gain you could use Essence Harvest

Phyrexian Tower ?

I had a grand old time play testing this against my Sleeper Ascension

also Demonlord of Ashmouth would give you stronger/cheaper air defense and fit the theme well or Desecration Demon from RTR come oct.

@ SupremeAlliesCommander That would be quite the battle. A game I definitely would enjoy playing.

@ RJNeuen Oh those are both great Ideas for flying defense and possible offense. Skeletal Vampire was my main sac combo before they came out with all these new wonderful black token creators. Not quite as functional now though. I think I would go with Desecration Demon its stronger and am not forced to sacrifice. I have considered Bloodflow Connoisseur , but am not quite ready to go that direction. When I have a noticeably larger creature in multiplayer I instantly become a target. If I ever bring it to a tournament I probably would swap it out. I do like Essence Harvest , I tend to be creature heavy. I am going to get another chance to play against my friends tomarrow after I pick up a few more cards. Ill see if I can't get my hands on one and run it through a test or two see what I think about it. Thank you for your advice. Its much appreciated :D

anytime! I must say I swear by Essence Harvest its so nice being able to play your big demon of choice turn four and then turn five dropping essence harvest and then swinging for X amount of damage. If you considered splashing in green you could do some more crazy things with some of the new RTR cards see my deck deck:demonszombies to see what Im gonna do with my standard deck that runs similar to this atm.

also on the note of demonlord v desecration be sure to note that if they sac that he gets tapped so he cant function as a blocker. I noticed that after i suggested him

I think that getting desecration tapped wouldn't bother me so much at the moment. My main flying opponent is a red white angel deck featuring Gisela, Blade of Goldnight and though it has some decent token production I have been able to keep the pressure on. And if I ever get them locked down with the grave pact they won't have any creatures to sacrifice to it. Not to mention if either Blood Artist or Harvester of Souls are out they will have more to think about then just loosing a creature. I have not considered adding any green. If I did I would have to start from scratch. Especially in a Legacy build as there is a lot better token production in green, not to mention mana ramping. It would be completely gutted. But I will definitely give a green/black sacrifice deck some consideration. I do enjoy sacing my creatures to achieve my ultimate goals. >:)

I just thought it was amusing that your wincon is to put your stuff in the grave. While my wincon is to put stuff in your grave. I'm getting better at piloting your deck and it mops the floor with mine most games. My only hope is getting Bloodchief Ascension active early.

Anyway... fun deck! +1
