Sideboard

This deck is focused around the Retreat cycle from Battle for Zendikar. The most important one is Retreat to Emeria. This lets you pump out a token every time you drop a land. The other Landfall ability on it is to give all you creatures +1/+1 until end of turn. The others are Retreat to Kazandu and Retreat to Hagra. Kazandu allows you to buff your tokens or gain life in board stalls. Hagra can slowly drain your opponent or give a small buff and deathtouch to you seemingly small 1/1 token from Emeria. The Planeswalkers in the deck are also very important. Ob Nixilis, Reignited is the main card draw engine. It also can act as removal if necessary. Nissa, Voice of Zendikar is also great in the deck. She makes Plant Tokens that are buffed by Emeria, Nissa's second ability, which gives all you creatures a +1/+1 counter, and one more thing, which brings me to the last Planeswalker, Gideon, Ally of Zendikar. His main purpose is to get the emblem and give all your creatures +1/+1. After you amass a load of tokens, you can play Oblivion Sower, Blighted Woodland, or best of all Nissa's Renewal as a finisher. Other cards that support this are Herald of the Pantheon, which lets you cast the Retreats for 1 less mana and gain a life whenever you cast an enchantment. The Gitrog Monster is the other draw engine. Just for the Gitrog Monster, there is a single copy of Drownyard Temple in the deck for maximum value. Nissa, Vastwood Seer can ensure you hit a land on turn 4 and also provides an early body that you can buff with Retreat to Kazandu. She also flips into Nissa, Sage Animist, which sometimes lets us get an extra landfall trigger per turn. She can also make a 4/4 token if you need the body. The ultimate would probably win the game, but honestly, I don't think your opponent would let that happen. Sword of the Animist is an equipment that gives the creature +1/+1, and the abilty to fetch a basic and put it on the battlefield tapped, giving you an extra landfall trigger at the low cost of 2 generic to play and 2 generic to equip. Ulvenwald Hydra gives you an extra landfall trigger, and just gets bigger as the game goes on. Also, it can block pesky flyers so you don't have to waste removal on them. Speaking of removal, lets talk about what we got in the maindeck and sideboard! There are 2 copies of Declaration in Stone, 1 copy of Ultimate Price, and 1 copy of Anguished Unmaking in the maindeck. Take out Anguished Unmaking against Aggro decks for Grasp of Darkness. Ultimate Price should be easy to decide. If you really need it, there is also 1 copy of Planar Outburst and 1 copy of Languish in the sideboard. If you are playing against a grindy deck, take out all the cards that make you lose life, and put in Felidar Sovereign. Start using Retreat to Kazandu to gain life, and play Felidar Sovereign to win. Trust me, it is possible. And of course, against Collected Company, put in Hallowed Moonlight to exile those annoying little guys!
