Respect My Territory

Commander / EDH BRG (Jund)

mkblazer15

Given that C18 didn’t truly deliver on a Lands Matter deck, I wanted to put one together that properly pays off on Lands. With that in mind, this deck plays like an aggressive ramp deck with the Jund mentality of grinding out the opponent while you play out far ahead of curve. Your enablers- everything from cards that let you make additional land drops to the house that is Scapeshift and Crucible of Worlds- push you into the payoffs- giant creatures, high mana spells, and, to put it simply, value. With that said, anyone playing this deck should be wary of disruption- which is why you will be running as much disruption as you can. Mass discard spells and premium removal are the way to go, but if you can get your engine online fast enough, Big X spells like Black Sun’s Zenith are excellent options. As it stands, I feel like the 99 is fairly solid, but with room to flex and change according to your playgroup and meta. I will mention this- I am playing Windgrace not because of inherent value, but because he is an enabler for the deck. If you wish to play a clearer threat for your Commander, then I would suggest Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire (who makes a guest appearance in the 99).
