Researching the Dankness

Standard GWU (Bant) Midrange

RisingOutlaw

Sideboard

An update on my previous Bant Midrange deck. This deck is competitive in almost any matchup and it still has room to grow. It's exciting times to be a Bant player.

Tamiyo, Field Researcher is so underrated. She grants card advantage (remember, you can cast her +1 on opponent's creatures! Punish them when they attack you!) and she's great for tempo and getting through attacks, or just slowing down the horde of Metalwork Colossus that is plaguing standard.

Archangel Avacyn   is our finisher and punishes go wide decks when she flips, helping us get attacks through.

Tireless Tracker is great because most people don't want to waste removal on it, but it grows, frantically. Getting Clue and saccing them gives us card advantage and makes him a credible threat.

Sylvan Advocate is so solid. It lets us get in early and still hang as a blocker with vigilance. And then, late game, if they haven't removed it, it becomes a 4/5. So solid.

Reflector Mage is more often then not, a great tempo play. Outright destroy flying tokens or mess up your foe's gameplan. If they're abusing flicker, side it out and play more counters (or angels if you're feeling greedy).

I never feel like I'm getting blown out, I always have something to do and best of all, this deck feels 1 or 2 cards away from being completely Tier 1 while still being able to compete and win games against established Tier 1 decks.
