FNM - May 24, 2013 —May 24, 2013

FNM resulted in a draw for 1st.

Round 1
Went up against R/G deck with Burning-Tree Emissarys, Stromkirk Nobles, and Hellriders. Boros Reckoner often stopped him. Gained some life with Unflinching Courage on a Silverblade Paladin and he scooped. Second game, he needed land. Took it, 2-0.

Round 2
Played against a G/B Fight deck, again. This time, I was prepared with Oblivion Rings and Selesnya Charms. He tried to rush out his creatures, but Blasphemous Act gassed him out and I took the game with a Thragtusk + Unflinching Courage. Game resulted in 2-0.

Round 3
Went up against Jund aggro. Opponent used a 3/1 with haste, Strangleroot Geist, and Falkenrath Aristocrats. Oblivion Ring answered the vampire and life gain turned the game around. Opponent got me to scoop, second round. Sideboarded Harvest Pyres, and Mizzium Mortars and took him off the battlefield. Took it, 2-1.

Round 4
Judge that was playing offered a draw and I accepted. He agreed to hand off the FNM promo. We played a casual game, though. He used R/W/U control with Tamiyo, the Moon Sage, Jace, Architect of Thought, and Ral Zarek. First game, he got Tamiyo, the Moon Sage at 8 counters, so I scooped. The next two games, Oblivion Rings saw play and opponent couldn't find a win-condition. So, I would have taken it, 2-1.

Made a few changes to the mainboard and sideboard. Blasphemous Acts swapped out with Mizzium Mortars. Been seeing a lot of aggro and mid-range decks lately. Time to make them pay!
