This is my first attempt at making any sort of meta-variation in Legacy.
Basically, I've seen and played against a lot of the Stoneblade decks, and it seems that either Esper or Deathsper are the reigning champs in that area. I decided to take my favorite combination of colors - Dega - and try to build a Stoneblade deck around it. Let me know what your thoughts are guys.
Anyways, the deck basically revolves around dropping Stoneforge Mystic to fetch either Umezawa's Jitte, Batterskull, or Sword of Fire and Ice, and then beat the opponent down with either the Germ token as the equipment bearer or give Dark Confidant a sword and watch him swing. Hell, even Tidehollow Sculler could be plated up with a Batterskull.
The red and black in this deck serve as removal and disruption. Thoughtseize/Inquisition of Kozilek and Cabal Therapy work very well in tandem, and Hymn to Tourach is the best discard spell available. Sign in Blood provides cheap draw.
Zealous Persecution is simply an awesome card. It screws over Storm when they go for Empty the Warrens rather than Tendrils, and also kills a lot of other creatures (namely un-threshed Nimble Mongoose and un-flipped Delver), while also potentially saving your creatures in the process. Vindicate is my favorite removal spell in legacy, as it can destroy any permanent I so desire!
The removal package, with the two cards just mentioned, is in the form of four Lightning Bolt, four Lightning Helix, and four Swords to Plowshares. These twelve cards ensure that any creature that poses a threat, or for the first two, any planeswalker low enough, is dealt with.
Anyways, this deck needs a lot of help, and any input (especially from those of you who actually play Stoneblade a lot) would be MUCH appreciated!
