This deck comes from here: Rat Tribal Deck : The Grim Reaper is a Rat

I decided to take the deck and make it modern legal. A lot of the combos from the original are still viable, but this is definitely more nerfed compared to the original deck. I am looking for ideas. The theme is obviously rat tribal (except the 2 vampires) and centered around deathtouch, tokens, and reanimation. Some improvements that I think could be of use would be area of effect cards + deathtouch combo. Again, I am open to any ideas.

I have spent some time playing this deck. So far I have won way more than I have lost. Unfortunately most players don't want to play again after playing against this deck once. Honestly it is a pretty annoying deck to play against. I have found that there are lot of different ways to win. Which is awesome! This means that just because you are denied one win condition doesn't mean you will be denied of victory. There have been a couple games where I won just using Rat Colony in combination with Pack Rat and other games where Marrow-Gnawer combos off. The most consistent victory I have found is using deathtouch rats to trade with the opponent's creatures while having Ogre Slumlord on the battlefield to create 1/1 rat tokens. It really puts your opponent in a tough situation because they can either take direct damage or trade with the rats, which only creates more 1/1 rat tokens. So far the play-testing has gone very well.

The Combos:

Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni let you steal from the graveyards while Immortal Servitude will let you mass rez your 1 or 2 mana drop rats to beef up Pack Rat + Swarm of Rats/Rat Colony.

Marrow-Gnawer + Thornbite Staff = infinite rat tokens.

Thornbite Staff/Pathway Arrows + Any deathtouch creature = kill any target creature

Sideboard Thoughts:

Chittering Rats/Ravenous Rats/Nezumi Shortfang: If you run into more of a control deck that doesn't use a lot of creatures you may want to use these rats instead of the deathtouch ones (and Nezumi Graverobber). They will reduce a control deck's card advantage and also slow them down, giving you more time to finish them quickly or reach your combo.

Sudden Death: This adds more interactions with your opponents creatures. The main board can really only interact through thornbite + deathtouch. Adding this helps when you run into some decks that need to have their creatures removed quickly.

Wrench Mind: More discard options if you don't want to place it all on your creatures.
