Introductory thoughts

Grenzo may be my favorite magic card (this is a very close race). I say this not because he's overly powerful, or because he wins a lot, but because he combines a few key aspects I love: 1. stealing people's shit and using it against them and 2. acknowledging that the best defense is a good offense (via Goad). Secondarily, as a commander, he doesn't look particularly threatening (compared to say, Purphoros), so you're still able to play politics. Finally, I submit for your consideration that goblins are inherently silly.

While this deck has a number of wincons, the most fun way to play this deck is to take full advantage of Grenzo's ability to steal top decks by connecting with a player thereby generating card advantage. The point of the deck is to go wide with little guys and just try and land hits on your opponents. the deck doesn't particularly have a lot of defense, so Grenzo's Goad ability comes in handy there. The deck land count is admittedly low, but many nonlands are mana acceleration cards so that makes up for it.

There are a few cards designed to help your hordes get hits on opponents:

- Bubble Matrix is key because it saves your stupid 1/1's from dying anytime they are blocked. If you lose goblins by full swinging each turn you can get into trouble as your horde dwindles. Additionally, Bubble Matrix lets you chump block indefinitely.

- Darksteel Sentinel + Nemesis Mask forces all blockers on to your stupid, indestructible meatshield while your goblins get to frolic their way right on in.

-Berserkers' Onslaught for double triggers!

There are also some sub-themes:

-Impact Tremors and Purphoros, God of the Forge generate a lot of damage via creature ETBs.

-There is a high number of artifacts, so it is feasible to win with Hellkite Tyrant alt wincon.

-There is a lot of support for Goblin tribal which leads to Shared Animosity and Legion Loyalist being able to generate stupid amounts of damage.

-to support Grenzo's thievery this deck has quite a bit of ramp to pay for other people's spells. Mana Echoes is the big one. using the Goblin tribe, it's very easy to generate hundreds of colorless mana in order to cast anything. Comet Storm + hundreds of mana ends games real fast.

-Charging Cinderhorn, because: GOING HAM IS LIFE.
