Started the deck thinking that I would pack every single god card in the deck. I soon realized that the new gods do not mesh well with each other at all, for instance the red and blue gods literally want opposite conditions. So I decided to focus more on the theros gods and an enchantment tribal.

NEW CHANGES

  • 1: Added enchantress cards for card draw and synergy
  • 2: Added the vows (to force god worship)
  • 3: Added eventide demigods because ONE they are demigods and TWO they alone enable multiple gods by themselves. Perfect synergy.
  • 4: Added pillowfort enchantments which mesh well for so many reasons. Help protect me when I do not have creatures and Sphere of Safety for instance literally synergizes with god tribal.
  • 5: Added the shrines because they seemed like a perfect addition to a god enchantment tribal deck.
  • 6: Added 3 sorcery cards for flavor and synergy, Wrath of God, Damnation, and Day of Judgment
  • 7: Bolas, since he is pretty much THE god of Amonket. Hoping to add a few of the shenanigans he brings in the next set.

This to work on:

  • 1: Land base. I think I am going to focus more heavily on functionality than flavor with this one because the theros scry lands are not really what I need for such a color demanding deck. The demigods make casting them really difficult unless I have a strong mana base.
  • 2: Ramp. I just added all of the signets for now. Not terrible, but I feel like I need to find some more "any color" ramp to keep the deck from falling behind.

Things I have decided against:

  • 1: Kamigawa deities. They have the whole divinity counters
  • 2: Amonked gods. They just do not mesh with each other and the Theros gods.
  • 3: Opalescence and Starfield of Nyx because of their rules interactions unfortunately, sounded epic from the beginning.
