My Favorite Commander/EDH Deck:

Updated 2/12/19

The more players in the game the stronger my Rakdos, Lord of Riots EDH deck becomes, due to the fact this deck likes to abuse "each opponent" or even "each player" damage cards, to gain maximum ramp from Rakdos. This deck is a passion of mine that I've been continuously working on, in an attempt to make the strongest deck I can. Although, I want my deck to be strong I opt not to run any combos; because if I was trying to play a combo deck id play my Mizzix of the Izmagnus or my Aminatou, the Fateshifter deck. The goal, of this deck, is to get an life-loss enabler out, before T3, and cast Rakdos, Lord of Riots on curve T4 to start the value train full of eldrazi. This deck is infamous for getting out of control fast and reeking havoc on those in my playgroup, if not targeted often and early on in the game before I attack with Rakdos, Lord of Riots .

Turn 4 Rakdos, Lord of Riots Enablers Ranked

  1. Cryptolith Fragment  : Can allow you to cast Rakdos, Lord of Riots even if you miss your fourth land drop
  2. Lobber Crew : Synergies well with my multi-colored commander, and with the 9 other non-commander multicolored spells in the deck, allowing me to often play a colorless creature up to 6 CMC on T4
  3. Pilgrim's Eye : Ensure you hit you 4th land drop of the proper color, and has flying to make it 99.9% guaranteed to hit T4 haha
  4. Plague Spitter : Deals one damage to every creature as well on upkeep, which is great against tokens and early game mana dorks
  5. Nettle Drone : Synergies well with the other 21 colorless spells, but the one toughness sucks
  6. Spear Spewer : Great to play T1, and the tap ability makes it great with haste enablers
  7. Shepherd of Rot : Having a CMC of 2 offsets the fact it has 1 toughness, and it works well with Sidisi, Undead Vizier , Neheb, the Eternal and Loyal Subordinate
  8. Loyal Subordinate : Low toughness but the menace and great lieutenant ability makes-up for that
  9. Thermo-Alchemist : Untaps with 11 spells in the deck, and since its 2 CMC it gives you more of an opportunity to play ramp or a haste enabler T3
  10. Sin Prodder : The menace allows it to swing freely normally, but playing this T3 Can Seriously effect your ability to hit land-drops
  11. Judith, the Scourge Diva : Allows Rakdos, Lord of Riots to kill opponents in only three swings with commander damage, and can cause life-losss if blocked and killed, hopefully deterring the opponent from blocking if the creatures would trade.
  12. Walking Ballista : It may be disappointing to casting him as an enabler, that dies, but its always going to deal damage and allow you to cast Rakdos, Lord of Riots on T4 before combat hopefully with a haste enabler
  13. Vial Smasher the Fierce : Although a 2/3 attacker on T4 isn't good, if it does deals damage to a player you could cast colorless creatures under 6 CMC for free T4
  14. Burnished Hart : A 2/2 attacker on T4 isn't good but if it works the fixing/ramp later is nice, especially when finding swamps with Crypt Ghast or Nirkana Revenant out
  15. Sunscorched Desert : Hard to set up but by having colored mana from a mana rock, or having a land like Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth or Shadowblood Ridge allows you to cast Rakdos, Lord of Riots on T4
  16. Piranha Marsh : Hardest to set up requires colored mana from a mana rock in order to cast Rakdos, Lord of Riots T4
  17. Expedition Map : Can find the above 2 enablers and stay on curve to cast Rakdos, Lord of Riots with colored ramp

Removal:

The following spells are versatile utility spells that have the ability to act as artifact removal and more

  • Rakdos Charm : Doubles as a damage spell, and can exile a graveyard if need be, all at instant speed
  • Kolaghan's Command : Great value at instant speed, due to it almost alway being a 2 for 1 in card advantage
  • Fiery Confluence : Everything the deck wants it could be a Mini-board wipe, the strongest each opponent damage spell, or artifact removal
