Commander: foil Child of Alara

40 lands, 40 planeswalkers, unlimited possibilities!

Hi there everyone! Happy to be be back after about 3 years away from MTG. I think that was my longest hiatus so far, and I've had quite a few. I think I really need to stop selling my collection every time I quit playing (though in the past I often quit playing because I was broke)... Anywho, I'm back and I'm only playing draft, sealed, and commander this time around.

I'm only going to have this one deck, and it's going to be one that will take me quite a while to finish building & foiling (I want every card to be a foil and/or alternate art version), because I'm only going to be adding to it by trading what I get from limited events. I think that, mixed with the lack of a specific play-style, combos, or goals besides having fun, is going to give this deck a LOT of re-playability.

My plan for the deck is 40 lands, 40 planeswalkers, 19 spells, and 1 creature: the general. I chose a general that is a board-sweeper as well, so I'm ok with including (him? her? it?), although if there was a 5-color planeswalker, I'd totally be using that as my general whenever possible. I'm going to be playing this deck in FFA, 1v1, 2HG, and possibly other formats, but never competitively. I want to make each game exciting & fun, by playing things that are threatening, but not overwhelming for the most part, and dealing with major problems on the board (most often by sweeping the board).

This is the current deck list I'm building. For now, I'm including all of the CIPT shard lands (Alara & Tarkhir), but I will slowly be replacing them with the original dual lands as I get them.

What I'm looking for help on-I'm looking for better options in spell slots. I like the idea idea of my removal being things that can get around hexproof, shroud, and indestructible. It's also nice having my board-wipes ignore planeswalkers.

-I'm trying to decide which versions of planeswalkers to keep for those with multiple versions. I think I'm ok running 2 versions of a PW, but no more. Jace & Sarkhan are the 2 I want to trim down at the moment. I'm also thinking I don't need 2 copies of Tezzeret, as my deck isn't overly invested in artifacts. I'm leaning towards keeping just the blue version, since it lets me tutor for the artifacts I do have.

-Right now my plan for lands is 10 shocks, 10 fetch, 10 shards (slowly converting to original duals), 5 basics (one of each), and 5 others (4 "any color" & Tolaria West). I'm looking for input here, should I run the shards or just make it 15 "other"?

Updates Add

This deck has been officially retired & disassembled. I was still ~20 cards away from completing the list I came up with, and the deck was already not very fun for other people to play against, so I decided to stop working on it.
