Rafiq's Enchantress Harem

Introduction

I originally had an exalted themed budget Rafiq deck but never built the physical deck. I was looking for a new interesting commander and after I couldn't get bird tribal going with Derevi (it ended up wanting to be like Edric v2.0 which isn't bad, but it's not as good as when Edric is at the helm). Next I tried putting her into this very shell but Rafiq's ability just ends games easier. The only benefit she offered was that she could eat removal over and over. She also has natural evasion which was nice. However, in an aura-themed deck giving evasion to Refiq is easy enough.

Next I ditched the exalted triggers aside from a few that were too good to abandon (cough! Finest Hour cough!) and added a crazy amount of possible card draw. Added the various enchantresses (plus Sram) and changed most of the removal to enchantment based removal to benefit from the extra draw our enchantresses offer. A lot of the ramp in the deck is enchantment-based as well for that reason. I then added pillow fort cards that would allow us to get into the late game should Rafiq eat a lot of hate. Ghostly Prison, Propaganda, and Sphere of Safety can prevent our opponents from attacking us. Stoic Angel, Silent Arbiter and Dueling Grounds all do the same thing- limit what can come at us.

Should Rafiq get picked on too much, nothing's more hilarious than strapping auras to a 0/2 enchantress and swinging for 20+ damage...

Combos or Synergies

Finest Hour : Amazing in Bant and especially with Rafiq. Typically, aggregated assault doesn't exist outside of . Pair that with a pumped up double striker with any sort of evasion and it's gg.

Medomai the Ageless : With Rafiq on the field, the double strike granted to Medomai means 2 extra turns. When both Rafiq and Finest Hour are on the BF, then you take 4 extra turns... If you can't close the game out with that then you're doing it wrong :p

Ajani's Chosen and Sigil of the Empty Throne: Token producers, mostly there for extra blockers. However, if Rafiq just isn't happening they can be used to as aura targets to beat face with.

Recursion: Hanna, Ship's Navigator, Sun Titan, Retether, Nomad Mythmaker .
