Less-than-budgetary upgrade —Feb. 15, 2019

I was playing this deck the other day, staring at my hand full of artifacts, wishing I had put a Metalworker in the deck. So now I have. I switched Plague Myr out. He was only there to be a mana dork anyways, and not for the infect. Fortunately, I have a few Metalworkers lying around from my time during the Urza's Cycle, so it wasn't like I had to drop a $50 to work it in.

Hey!

I love the deck, it looks like it'll be a blast to play!

I'm currently taking a break from my Raff list. Its really fun but I was given a commander for my birthday and I feel like I should build around that first :P

Some suggestions I've been thinking about putting in my own raff deck are stuff like Ephara, God of the Polis. She seems REALLY good there. Heliod, God of the Sun might be a nice addition to that as well. Search for Azcanta  Flip if you can afford the dang thing, it being so expensive. Finally, Thassa, God of the Sea seems really good to make some creatures unblockable, and the scry seems legit too.

Flashing in a Meishin, the Mind Cage sounds hilarious as well. I don't know why I'm mostly suggesting enchantments but they're just popping up in my mind.

Happy brewing! If you need any help let me know! I'd be happy to help.

@Tiny_Sir, thanks for the comments, and the +1.

What commander did you get for your birthday? What are you planning on building?

Very nice idea, Tiny_Sir. I've been toying with the idea of building around Tasigur as well, but am just not sure how to do it. Also, I'm going to build a budget version of Muldrotha, the Gravetide, and if I do that, I'm not sure if building Tasigur is any different. Thoughts?

Muldrotha is a whole other beast imo.

Tasigurs ability can play politics, get instants and sorceries, and involves trimming your grave to get the best bang for your buck with his ability.

Muldrotha is more of a value fest using repeated permanent sac//etb effects.

TLDR; I think Muldrotha is more of a value deck and tasigur is more control/combo

Well, since I do love graveyard shenanigans, then I do suppose I'll have to build with Tasigur, too!

If you add Phyrexian Altar, with Sai out you can draw and cast your entire deck when you get the infinite loop going.

You can see my deck here

it's very similar in the way I typically win.

I do believe Phyrexian Altar would be a great addition, but unfortunately, I don't think I have any more lying around, and I don't want to drop $30 for a single card addition right now. I'll have a look round at my collection, and see if I have one hiding out I can slip in.

Playing combo in blue... maybe want some Counterspell backup?

suarkdivad, I don't typically run a lot of counter magic. I don't know why, but I just don't tend to, instead opting for other single target removal options. I may someday look at making some switches for some counterspells, but probably won't for now. I do appreciate the suggestion, though.
