The whole idea behind this deck is to channel your inner Duncan McCleod and feel the Quickening surge within! Is it turn six and is your opponent about to alpha strike you? Just play Quicken and heighten your senses to cast an impossible intant-speed End Hostilities! Oh now it's turn 7 and your opponent plays one or two creatures to rebuild? HA! Just play Quicken followed by Rise from the Tides on their end step. Surprise! I hope they have a way to block 11 zombies. The answer is, he/she probably doesn't. The deck's mana base incorporates a mini life gain engine utilizing azorious chancery + radiant fountain to give you that extra 6 or so life to get to the crucial quickening turns! Just remember....THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE.

The deck might have a little more card selection than it needs. Also the deck needs help against early aggression. I'm not sure if anticipate or Opt is better in this deck so I cut one of each. Also the deck is a little weak against blue counters, so I cut Condescend for a Negate. -1 Anticipate -1 Opt -1 Divination -1 Condescend +2 Last Breath +1 Ratchet Bomb +1 Negate
