Where is your Test of Endurance or your Felidar Sovereign? Those are crucial to any life gain strategy. Not very expensive either.

Hahahahaha no worries TheTindell179. I appreciate the view and the feedback nonetheless! Any more suggestions you'd like to throw my way I'd be happy to consider!

The only deck I've played in pauper was an RDW, so we're on two completely different sides of the spectrum here. Sorry for not being able to help lol.

The problem is while preventing damage and protecting yourself is nice, it does nothing to win the game. Swinging with an Augur il-Vec will take forever, even if it is unblockable and your cards to not protect you from life loss (Crypt Rats) or targeted removal (Doom Blade).

IF you want to play that same archetype in Pauper (Prison) there is a much easier way - play all of the Circle of Protection: Green and its ilk to protect you from damage, while playing 4 Grim Guardian to win.

Here's an idea, how bout overhauling it into a white weenie featuring a lifegain sub theme. I figure you'll be able to stay ahead on life while being able to consistently get in for damage.

I understand your concern Boza, and I appreciate the suggestion! I didn't realize the Circles were also released as commons--I only saw that they were released as uncommons in Ninth Edition. I'll definitely find a place for them!

TheTindell179, that's also a very good suggestion! I'll look in to that, but I kind of wanted to refrain from the white weenies because I feel like that's such a common thing to do. I'll do some more research though!

The professor at Tolarian Community College has a nice base list you can look at.

I'd throw in Eight-and-a-Half-Tails. Great for protection.

Hahaha it's all good Bassmaster, I appreciate your advice anyways!

You could replace Exile with Unmake. You don't gain life, but it is easier to use.

KillerKorpse99 thank you! I might stick with Exile but if I stumble upon an Unmake I'll try it out!

Some ideas:

-Conclave's Blessing. If you can consistently get lots of creatures in play, this helps give you a tremendous blocker.

-Ethereal Armor. Helps turn one of your creatures into a bomb.

-Oppressive Rays. I like Weight of Conscience, but in pauper this can shut down a lot of cards for less demand.

-Pentarch Ward. It's not as flexible as Flickering Ward, but it does replace itself, which is considerable. Maybe run both.

-Instead of the circles of protection, try the runes of protection. Since you're running mono-white, the change from mana symbol 1 to mana symbol w doesn't matter, and the option to cycle them is nice if your opponent doesn't have certain colors.

-Shield of Duty and Reason. Combo with Crown of Awe to make a creature nearly untouchable, if you're okay with stacking so many cards on one target. (Maybe swap the crown with Mask of Law and Grace.)

Thank you thumbs14! I like the Runes of Protection better, actually! I've thought about Conclave's Blessing, and I guess I was thinking that would be better for a token type deck so I can tap less powerful tokens instead of my stronger nontoken creatures. I'll definitely add it to my maybeboard and play test it to see how it works.

As for Ethereal Armor, Shield of Duty and Reason and Mask of Law and Grace, I'm a little hesitant to add them. I'm not sure if this deck is better off having one creature be the threat and prevent damage with my other creatures or if I should keep it with lots of little dudes that I can enchant. I have the Shield and the Mask in my maybeboard because I was thinking of adding them, but I think it's safe to say that they are (at the least) going into my sideboard. That way depending on who I'm playing I can switch them in, rather than have a pointless card in there (for example, if I were playing against mono green but had Mask of Law and Grace in there).

I like Oppressive Rays, but I'll have to play test it. Although it is only pauper, it does make me a little nervous that the creature cannot be removed from the game completely. You do have a very good point though, it is much less demanding.

The reason I may keep Flickering Ward as opposed to Pentarch Ward is because if one of my creatures is targeted and dies, I can remove Flickering Ward at instant speed to return it to my hand. That way, it won't go to my graveyard with my creature. However, Pentarch Ward does have card draw, which is quite nice. I'll put it in my maybeboard.

Thank you for all your help!!!
