This deck is a political control and taxation deck. It relies on enchantments heavily to keep one safe and damage the other players without combat. Sanguine Bond and Exquisite Blood are combo win conditions to end the game, and as such the deck also relies on Enlightened Tutor to find the second piece once you've drawn the first. Debt to the Deathless and Exsanguinate are also win conditions to take down low health foes.

Monarch is your primary draw engine, as such Knights of the Black Rose , Custodi Lich , Skyline Despot , and of course Queen Marchesa are used to quickly take back the monarchy by other means. When not the monarch Skullclamp can be used on Marchesa's Tokens or Bitterblossom to repeatedly draw cards.
