The idea behind this deck is a mixture of politics, pillow fort, control, and lifegain/loss. Queen Marchesa is our commander as she can generate tons of value with either A) Card Advantage, or B) Politics. Much of the cards in this deck give you value when you are, and are not the monarch, making it tough for your opponents to choose whether it is worth it to attack you or not.

There is one infinite combo in this deck, the Sanguine Bond/Defiant Bloodlord and Exquisite Blood package, but there is only one tutor in the deck to search for it. It is not the theme of the deck, only one possible win-con.

Kaya, Ghost Assassin is an incredible card in this deck. It works with the Monarch cards, to ensure you are always the monarch on your turns (plus any added benefits of becoming the monarch); as well as Gray Merchant of Asphodel, all the planeswalkers (reset loyalty), and as it's own card draw and ping/lifegain mechanic.

Thalia's Lancers is a great tutor as we run many legendary creatures, four planeswalkers, and Alhammarret's Archive, any of which it is able to tutor out.

Debt to the Deathless works incredibly well with this deck also.

Other win-cons include: Aetherflux Reservoir, and Bond of Agony
