Maybe one or two Collective Brutality so the excess discard spells don't just stay in your hand and you have greater control over your life total.

Thanks ojmandias, seems like a good fit!

how much milage are you getting out of Oona's Blackguard? i personally really enjoy Mistbind Clique for my 3rd faerie slot. I would also, in the future, pick up some more copies of Vendilion Clique. Really helps with hand control, and is also a faerie.

I'm going to second Naterino on Mistblind in this case it has more value.

Thanks for the suggestions naterino, I'll try out a couple Mistbind Clique. I want to keep the average cmc very low so I can run as few lands as possible though, so adding another Vendilion Clique would probably come at the expense of one Mistbind Clique.

Given the blackguard only synergizes with the Bitterblossom, I would personally go with a different faerie, possibly Scion of Oona, Oona's Prowler or even Pestermite etc... just my opinion though. sweet build +1

Cool combo that is not really relative to this deck is Mistbind Clique+Eldrazi Displacer+Any Faerie= Constantly tapping your opponents lands

I hope you know tribal decks have to be one third of the chosen creature type. This is not tribal legal. You need seven more faeries.

Kuno says... #13

Actually only three because you have the faerie enchantments.

I didn't know there was a tribal format. Seems a bit nitpicky to me, but if you feel so strongly about me removing the tribal tag, so be it.

I'm sorry, I get why you put the tribal tag. Don't worry about it. The format is called tribal wars. You can look it up if you want.

The mana base Needs some work ;) several Things: you are running Fatal Push which gets better with every fetchland you run. you currently run 7 fetches and 6 Shocks. you should Change that to 9 fetches and 4 shocks.

Since the deck is predominantly black-blue, i would suggest:

Fetches (11): 4x Polluted Delta, 3x Scalding Tarn, 2x Bloodstained Mire

Shocks (4): 2x Watery Grave, 1x Scalding Tarn, 1x Blood Crypt

I also think Faerie Conclave addint to the faerie Count for sprite will almost never come up, Mistbind Clique championing it even less. and Creeping Tar Pit is almost always the better manland (also taps for black, which is important).

I am also not sold on Blightning because its a 3cmc sorcery that is most of the time just a lot worse than Kolaghan's Command. i would replace it with another kcommand without looking back ;). Blightning is a trap because it gives the Opponent choice and decks like burn or affinity could care less about their life total.

thats it for now, but i'll come back to this. it fascinates me :D

Final note: ub faerie lists run Mutavault, but its very probably too greedy in grixis. yea, it is .D

TheAlexGnan I understand the reasoning behind your suggestions, but damn man, why are you trying to murder my wallet? I think a 1 of Blightning can often be very helpful actually. One of the most frequent choices for a turn 3 Kolaghan's Command is discard/2 damage and aside from being a sorcery, Blightning is better than both choices (it also saves me $10).

Well I aproach it this way: You can always buy a cheaper variant of a deck, but its best to still theoretically construct it the best it can be. I mean if you're already spending several hundred bucks on it, you should have that in the back of your head at least.

I very strongly disagree on Blightning. It can't affect the board at all, kcommand can bolt a dork or smaller dude. Command is also instant speed which effectively makes it "cheaper", much in the way that Electrolyze is only playable because you can time it perfectly. and you never ever want to tap out with a deck that wins by outwitting the opponent with flash threats.

Kcommand is also by far the better top deck.

You could also go by the fact that not a single competitive grixis list, regardless wether it runs other discard or not, and not a single jund list runs Blightning even though it seems to fit in with both decks value-damage-orientated gameplans.

It does, ofcourse somewhat function as a budget replacement for command, i admit that.

Pretty sweet deck man, I constructed a grixis faerie deck a long time ago but had a tough time getting the mana right and just had a difficult time picking the cards I wanted in the deck.

You seem to have done pretty well with it,
