Could it be? A good mono-R EDH deck?! The strategy is to get Purphoros, God of the Forge out, and make hella tokens to burn everyone down.

His devotion requirement plus his indestructibility make him very resiliant, plus he can buff your swarm late game.

Strengths: Explosive damage to everyone, can deal out 40 by T7 to T9 relatively consistently.

Weaknesses: Fliers! It's mono-R :( That means no enchantment removal, and no straight creature destruction. With few ways to draw cards, you'll run out of steam if you don't draw the right cards. Somewhat dependent on the commander, if he gets tucked, you might struggle.

Goblin Stars:
Krenko, Mob Boss The best token generator in the deck, the amount of damage he can trigger gets ridiculous really quickly. Kill it immediately.
Goblin Assassin Turns every other goblin you create into an edict. With Krenko, you can sac about half of the tokens you just created no problem.
Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker If you make a copy of Goblin Assassin, and then tap Krenko, that comes close to a board wipe for everyone else.
Siege-Gang Commander 8 damage to each opponent, plus some targeted Shocks.

Elemental Mastery If you can keep your devotion up, this is a powerhouse on Purphoros. Tap for 6 tokens and 12 damage.
Furnace of Rath Obviously. Can sometimes backfire, but if you're scared of that, why are you playing mono-R?
Mogg Infestation Destroy all of your own creatures (except Purphoros) and get twice that many, triggering 2 damage for each. Seems good.
Firecat Blitz Make a ton of tokens, then sac your lands to do it again. Awesome finisher.
Burn at the Stake With all of the creatures you'll have, this gets big fast.

Board Wipes:
Blasphemous Act Will almost always cost R when you need to cast it.

Basilisk Collar is great on Purphoros, God of the Forge (on the rare occasion he's a creature), Arms Dealer, Goblin Sharpshooter, or Siege-Gang Commander. It's also good on a random token to deter attackers.

And it's pretty budget too! (If you replace Mana Crypt, Gauntlet of Might, and Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker)
