The deck has so much mana rock ramp that I don't think lands are an issue.

How is it that every Protean deck is actually just a Zur deck? Just run Zur as your commander if that's what you want to do.

Protean means versatile, like the ability to tutor a ton of different things out.

Did you expect to see Protean Hydra, Protean Hulk, or Protean Raider, the only three cards with protean in the name?

Sorry, the title stuck in my head as the other half of the dragon's name. And no, I did not expect to see any of those cards, as that doesn't work with commander's color identity rules. The point though still stands: virtually every deck I see with this guy as the 'commander' just uses Zur to do everything. If that's the case, just build a deck with Zur as the commander then.

Well, zur as the commander has a lot of issues. It is harder to voltron up, and is more threatenning.

I see a lot of enchantments, I can tell you put a lot of good cards in the deck, especially out of those enchantments. putting chromium as a commander is a good idea, because it can be cast at a time you can cast an instant, so technically you can play it anytime during the game and it always returns to the command zone when it dies, so you can cast it at any time again.

The card Vanishing might be nice as it can save your commander from any removal, so long as you have mana up.

Ive been piloting a control chromium for about a month now with several revisions, and I’ve gotta say, while it’s no Tasigur, it’s extremely fun and usually pretty consistent to play.

smleger yes! I love Chromium, and I think Starsky2814 feels similarly about this!

ArchFline I find that Vanishing is just hard to often justify, as Chromium often protects itself just fine, and though Vanishing can do more... it often doesn't, and so is almost a wasted card. Still an option if your meta runs removal like sacrifice effects or tons of board wipes.

WildFang16 I know, Chromium is one of the coolest decks I can pilot at my table, and though mine isn't super competitive, it certainly is fun!

And, because I often just kill one player at a time and everyone knows my gameplan before I acomplish it, unlike some of my combo decks, every win feels very rewarding.

I see. At my mtg table, of 5-7 people, most players run between 3-5 board wipes each. As such I am often bias toward protections that can avoid such rampant and I targetless hate. However I do believe that despite your meta having reduced boardwipes this card is still very useful. You can utilize this card as an alternative to discarding for protection (thus maintaining your hand size) or offensively on your opponents commander effectively removing a threat permenatly. Do remember that all enchantments on a phased permenant also phase out, thus this enchantment can easily protect itself from removal. It is a superior Darksteel Mutation in some ways.

ArchFline I like it, yet I am sure you can imagine my suspicion.

If you had to put this specific build of the deck onto your tier list where do you think you would rate it @SynergyBuild

How about Sigarda's Aid? A fantastic one drop that adds the element of surprise (aka Flash) to the many Auras you are running.
