Sorcery (1)

Intro

I always wanted to build the Brain in a Jar + Beck / Call deck so when wizards announced they would be changing the rules of split cards I was both horrified and heartbroken. Then Rivals Of Ixilan rolled around. I was scrolling through the spoilers when one card caught my eye, Twilight Prophet. I thought to myself, this card looks great but where to put it? Then I looked down and next to my computer was the Rags / Riches I had just pulled from a pack. I looked back up at the screen, back down at the card again and my mind started brewing...

The Combo

You are probably looking at this deck wondering what the heck it's trying to do, but I promise you there is at least a little sense in this brew. Twilight Prophet lets you revile a card from the top of your library and gain life equal to it's CMC, on top of that target player looses that much life. The same rule that crushed my brainy dreams states that the CMC of a split card is equal to both haves combined, meaning the CMC of Rags / Riches would be 11. I would gain eleven life and my opponent would loose eleven. After thinking up this combo, I thought of the chancellor cycle. More specifically Chancellor of the Dross, which, with Twilight Prophet gains us 7 and deals 7. After looking through all of the split cards printed as of yet I realized that the deck would have to be four kinda five colors and I settled on a control shell.

This is my deck so far. It's very janky and not at all competitive. This is mainly because wizards have printed very few split cards and barely any of them are actually playable and also because no matter what I tell myself I am not the best deck builder (especially when it comes to mana bases). That is why I need your help to make this competitive. Please leave a comment/suggestion and, of course, an upvote. Have a nice night.
