Jodah

Hello and welcome to another "balanced" deck with your good friend and EDH enthusiast Sketchy Scribbler!

Today we're covering Jodah, Archmage Eternal, the newest edition to the long term goal I have of creating my own meta of each color combo possible. Jodah is a bit different, as with this commander we have all five colors due to his color identity. I've chosen to focus a bit on the green side in order to be able to fully utilize and abuse Jodah's ability.

To which you may be asking, what does he do? You ever heard of this mediocre card called Fist of Suns?

Well, turns out when you staple this here artifact to a legendary 4/3 flyer for it becomes ten times better!

My list goes down one path, big ol' critters. The other one is a bit closer to your average Narset, Enlightened Master build, but that's for someone else to cover.

Progenitus

Before we get into the nitty-gritty of our big ol' brutes, let's talk ramp.

We want to be sure that we hit all five colors consistently without spending way too much on our mana base, but we also want to play our general early if not on time so there's a balancing act to be had. So what we have to mitigate our commander's cost is are our signets, Azorius Signet, Izzet Signet, and Boros Signet. They make it a bit easier to cast Jodah along with providing some ramp for the future, so that's a no brainer.

Next is fixing our colors via Wood Elves, Farhaven Elf, Joiner Adept, Chromatic Lantern, Sylvan Caryatid, and Birds of Paradise. Each can find and or produce what we need in order to hit consistently.

Omniscience

Let's talk threats.

We have all five colors to choose from, so this part was a bit of a doozy. The main outright winners here are Omniscience, Blightsteel Colossus, Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger, Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, and Craterhoof Behemoth. Each of these creatures are just too damn fun not to play for five mana, wouldn't you say?

Then there's the obligatory Door to Nothingness, because we're in five colors and I'll be damned if I don't kill at least one person with this friggin card.

There are others on my list, but honestly they aren't really needed to win as much as they are a bit annoying to deal with.

Craterhoof

Now, we are running a couple of combos in this list as a "BREAK GLASS IN CASE OF LOSING".

Deadeye Navigator + Peregrine Drake = Cast literally everything in your hand

Craterhoof Behemoth + Avenger of Zendikar = Everyone (occasionally) dies!

As for the obvious omission, don't worry. I understand that Enter the Infinite is a card and I will end up putting it in when I get my hands on a copy. Until then, it isn't going in here.

Arena

Card draw is pretty much my personal favorites.

Demonlord Belzenlok, Phyrexian Arena, Necropotence, Sylvan Library, and Rhystic Study are the main ones that honestly should go into every deck, but the others in the list are mostly because I love their interactions.

Door

And that's about it.

If you liked the build, give it a +1, and if you have some suggestions leave me an explanation for why I should run the cards you are talking about.

Anyways, thanks for reading!
