Going on indefinite hiatus... —July 26, 2017

I've been on the fence about doing this for quite sometime. It's definitely been a struggle to make this decision, but I feel it's the best choice I have right now.

I have sold my collection of cards, including everything in this deck, and am stepping away from the game for the time being. I am not sure when or if I will come back. I may dabble on Xmage here and there, and may eventually get the deck back on paper, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I want to thank everyone who made this deck possible and got us to where we are today. Without you, none of this would have ever been possible.

I won't be checking on this site again for awhile, and there won't be any new updates.

Until we meet again...

Winther I believe someone asked about that a long time ago??? I'm not 100% certain, however this list is not really meant to be stax. Being complete stax is not the goal. I know that Static Orb, Winter Orb and Silent Arbiter are there, but that's pretty much just so Daretti, Scrap Savant can be in play long enough to ult.

Hey LTmiller,

Thanks for the reply!

I can see that you allready explained why you went away from a stax build in your update section - my bad! Still, the card seems super cool as it hardly (if at all) hinders the daretti playstyle. Anyhow, I asked as I was on the fence of including a copy myself. Messing with a list myself The Scrappening, any feedback would be much appriciated :-)

Winther: LTmiller pretty much nailed it on the head. More often than not, it's not going to hold down many creatures, and the main thing it will prevent would be them winning via Commander damage. Personally, it's not worth it to me, but if it's something you feel like you want to run, go for it! The game is all about personalizing your decks to your style of play.

Guerte I like it. I had my eye on Oracle's Vault for my version of this deck myself lol.

I was also considering including Oracle's Vault in my Daretti deck, but the main issue is that any land it finds beyond your "1 land per turn" automatically stops the Paradox Engine combo. I've also run into so much more artifact hate since I first started playing EDH that I'd be surprised if Oracle's Vault lasted three turns to take advantage of the free casting ability.

Why not the sexy promo Oracle's Vault?

May 15, 2017 11:56 p.m.

Guerte says... #7

SVHowdy: Vault is really just a value engine. If you're trying to go off with it and Engine, you really should include Sensei's Divining Top as it will ensure you hit non-lands to cast. Otherwise, yes, you will fizzle.

SnowCoveredPlainswalker: I do have the promo version. Just haven't updated it to reflect. In fact, when I do update that, I have to update the rest of the deck as I have sold most of the higher end foils including Expos and Inventions. I can no longer justify having those expensive cards when I rarely play and have to purchase a fence for my house. Sad days. One day I hope to be able to have him pimped again.

Guerte Honestly I'd just leave it like it is. As it provides those who seek to have the best of the best, someone like myself to have a target to aim for. Whenever I started pimping my decks, I try to find the "pimpest of the pimp" and then try to 1 up it. It's honestly way more inspiring for me to see a deck like this online, even if I know/don't know if that's how they really have it.

What about Pyramid of the Pantheon. It is like gilded lotus by turn 5 casting it anyway not including other ramp of course. Thoughts Guerte?

LTmiller: I'm still kinda iffy on if I want to leave it as is or change it back. In all honesty, it doesn't really matter much, but if it shows up as foil, that increases the price that is shown, and sometimes can deter people away, which is something I don't want to do. I'll have to think on it more.

Renkai: Not really too keen on Pyramid of the Pantheon. You spend seven mana to get a Gilded Lotus on the fourth turn after playing it. I'd rather invest my mana in something else to be honest. But, it may make a great substitute for one of the more expensive rocks.

Guerte, great job with this deck. Just recently got most of these cards to play this!

LTmiller: I'll just keep it as is. Too much stuff to remove. Lol. Then I can look back at how it once was.

Darkmage0509: Thank you and welcome aboard the Scrap Train! Glad to have you!

Next weekend I'll be finally testing this deck so I'll see how it goes. It's become 1 of my 3 current Commander decks (Azami and Glissa). I'm a big fan of Stax, that's what I played in my Vintage days, so I'm eager to see if I'll be tempted to alter this deck towards more of a Welder Stax list. Always looking to make my decks more competitive and only cards I'm missing of your list are Recruiter, Workshop, and Bazaar, not spending $1,000 on a card lol but Recruiter will be my next card to get if this deck works out the way I'm expecting. Let you know how it works out if you're interested! Thanks again.

Darkmage0509 No joke though, just get the Bazaar. That thing is a MONSTER in this deck. I was so glad when I finally got mine. Whew son. You combine that thing with Alhammarret's Archive and Squee, Goblin Nabob and by golly you're on your way to ripping through your deck.

Side note though, you can just use Goblin Matron, it isn't quite as good because it can't find Metalworker, however Guerte has told me that he personally thinks the Imperial Recruiter is better/more important to get first, I however think the Bazaar is better. I got all of the really expensive cards for this all at once and it has by far done the most good for me.

Hello, i am from Uruguay, sorry for my bad english

Why not incluing Lion's Eye Diamond ?

Very pretty list, i play a similar list, but mishra workshop and bazar... is very expensive for mi :(

yesty13 says... #18

Sorry for the double post.I think a Lion's Eye Diamond is good for discarding and being able to revive something in the mid game, and help to use the ability of artifacts like planar bridge.

What do you think of Scroll Rack?

Thanks

Angry_Fister Mirage mirror looks awesome for Daretti. Worst case it can turn into another rock. Question is what to drop?

July 3, 2017 1:59 p.m.

Angry_Fister says... #21

I'd probably drop Mirrorworks. Mirage is much cheaper and more flexible because you can copy something in play.

Could you fix the primer images?

Guerte says... #23

Sorry for being absent for so long. I will fix the images and answer everyone as soon as I get the time to do so.

I FB Messaged Guerte so he could fix the problems and answer some questions for everyone.

Personally, agree about dropping Mirrorworks.

Alright folks! The images should be working again. I had to change image hosts to a more reliable one (Imgur). If you see anything else amiss, please let me know!!!

=================================

yesty13: LED I feel is better in the stax version of Daretti. I don't like the idea of losing my entire hand just getting Daretti out. And as far as Scroll Rack goes, it can be good to get rid of cards you don't want in hand, but unless you have a way at the ready to shuffle your deck, you're just going to draw them again. I don't plan on running it, but if you wish then by all means!

Angry_Fister/BPots6694/LTmiller: As far as Mirrorworks vs Mirage Mirror goes, I feel like they are very different cards. Mirage can copy things already in play, and gives you flexibility every turn for something you may want. However, it won't trigger ETB effects like Mirrorworks does, and whatever you create a copy of stays in play and can be used for Daretti/Welder fodder.

I'm not 100% sold on the card yet.
