I'm trying to build a budget (or quite cheap deck) to beat death's shadow and similar strategies, rather than focusing on being good against the meta as a whole (Affinity and EldraziTron are horrendous matchups). The deck is still under progress, and I'm trying to figure out what removal package I want to run etc (trying to make excuses to not invest in Fatal Push but might have to get 1-2 anyway).

This deck is a lot better than it looks!

Made some changes, slowing down the deck but making it better at grinding through. It has been performing significantly better since.
