Anax and Cymede suggest that you target them with spells, and back them up with friends. Seething Anger can be recast, while cantrips like Psychotic Fury and Balduvian Rage help keep the cards flowing. Enchantments give lasting value compared to instants and sorceries, so auras such as Flickering Ward and Crown of Flames that target the commander, and versatile auras like Bonds of Faith are a perfect fit. Ajani's Chosen has great synergy with the deck, since each enchantment I cast also provides another creature to benefit from Anax and Cymede's triggered ability, as well as helping trigger Battalion cards like Tajic, Blade of the Legion. Aurelia, the Warleader offers an extra combat phase to make the most of each Anax and Cymede trigger, while attack triggers from Hero of Bladehold and Agrus Kos, Wojek Veteran become even more potent. My army wants to attack whenever possible, so Iroas, God of Victory ensures my battalions live to fight another day.
