i think that Jace, Architect of Thought fits in more than Jace, Memory Adept does. Architect has both a "fog" effect and better card draw. he can also even be another win condition.

I'll work on getting a couple in my binder then. As it currently stands, I now have 2x Memory Adepts, so I'm going to put them in for now, and throw the Architect into the maybeboard until I get a couple.

-2 Bow of Nylea

+1 Kiora, the Crashing Wave (Unexpected Results )

+1 Jace, Memory Adept

I've been thinking of something similar myself perhaps more counters could help to both stall and prevent Kiora from dying.

beakedbard, if you built this with more counters, what would you take out? Personally, I think the fog effects are more important in game 1, and extra counters could always be sideboarded in, but everyone's style is different.

I'd personally take out 1 Cyclonic Rift 1 Progenitor Mimic and 1 Omenspeaker in place of more counters most likely Syncopate or Negate keeping her alive seems key to the strategy I'd almost say Swan Song so you can bring her out t5 and have an answer to burn spells. On the note of sideboards what were you thinking?

Sideboard-wise, I seem to be running into mono-black, W/U and R/W/U control, and R and R/W aggro, though the guys at my FNM also have quite a few non-netdecks, mostly for diffrent concepts and the occasional mono-green devotion.I think I can keep the creature-based decks at bay, provided I draw the right cards, and Jace, Architect of Thought (sideboarded or mainboarded) will lend a hand. But I suspect the control decks and the Gray Merchant of Asphodel -based mono-black will be more difficult, as well as the things I can't stop, like a Whip of Erebos 'd Obzedat, Ghost Council . Holding the counters for the right cards can be a challenge.I'd probably start my sideboard with Rapid Hybridization , Negate , and Jace, Architect of Thought if he doesn't get moved to the mainboard. Possibly Skylasher or Mistcutter Hydra for the control decks. But I'm not very good at building sideboards, so any help is welcome.

Because of the mana cost of my spells, most of which are instants that would be cast on my opponent's turn, I don't believe Plasm Capture is the right choice here. Swan Song would be a better counter spell if I was to put more counters in the deck.Just curious, as you suggested it, what is your reasoning for adding Plasm Capture ?

Counter something with a 4 or higher cmc (Blood Baron, Desecration Demon, Elspeth, Stormbreath...). Then you can use the free mana to cast one of your permanents while keeping you lands available for your instants.

I feel like Jace 5 would be a better win con, since you're already fogging and Memory Adept is a lot more resistant to burn than Kiora is. Also, more card draw? I don't know how you're doing with so little card draw, though I guess the Omenspeakers kind of help with that, but I think even something as simple as Divination would help.

The Courser of Kruphix will also help with card-draw, by removing lands ahead of me drawing them. Jace's mini-FoF is also a way to draw. If you are suggesting more card draw, what should be taken out to make space?

I'm not sure actually. I don't even know if you really need it now that I'm looking at Omenspeaker, Courser, Jace and Kiora all essentially extending your hand. I'd consider dropping any combination of Druid's Deliverance and Defend the Hearth for 2 more Simic Charms though, since it protects Kiora better than either of those 2.

I definitely think more Simic Charm s would be great to have, but I think I'd have to playtest it at FNM to figure out if I need more Charms or more Fogs. Of the fog effects, I'd remove Defend the Hearth first, since Druid's Deliverance can double a token for me.

So your only Win conditions are kioras ult what about adding Biovisionary for a secondary win condition some thing they might need to waste removal on so they now have less spells to target your kiora or you win with four Biovisionary via Fated Infatuation combo. Well that is just one other way to make the fog deck more consistent but it requires u changing your deck alot.
