Maybeboard

What started as a budget Lantern Control deck, quickly turned into a mono-white Pillowfort.

In the case of this deck winning is all about not losing. It has a lot of defensive enchantments and the prison aspect of the Lantern Combo to keep it save once it is set up. The hardest part is surviving the first rounds. I included a lot of direct removal enchantments and some cheap ways to gain life. If everything goes well, the deck will slowly mill the opponents library with Codex Shredder and Grindclock.

Also this deck is made up enterily from enchantments and artifacts! That means creature removal cards are wasted cards against it. However this makes (mass) removal of artifacts/enchantments hurt a lot. And the only protection is the Lantern Combo to avoid the opponent drawing those cards.

Ghostly Prison and Sphere of Safety do their best to make creatures worthless. Story Circle does the same for direct damage through Abilities and Sorceries. Even though multiple copies of this card are of little use, it is too important to have less than 4 in the deck. Sun Droplet and Elixir of Immortality keep our Life Points high enough to survive some punishment and the Elixir doubles as protection against (self-)milling.
Banishing Light can target everything and counts for the Sphere. The Porphyry Nodes and Oppressive Rays are great to slow the opponent down in the early rounds. In an Aggro matchup they are vital to survive until the Defence cards can enter the field.
Well yeah the Lantern Combo. Grindclock was included as additional Milling card that increases the speed slightly.
Buried Ruin to reclaim pieces of the Lantern Combo and Inventors' Fair as lifegain and (kind of useless) tutor.
Against haste creatures and as alternative win-con Blind Obedience. Nevermore to deal with nasty cards that we can not answer otherwise. Orbs of Warding as late game(!) protection against red and black decks that target us a lot. Rule of Law against Combo decks to give us time to Banish their Combo pieces. Tormod's Crypt against every deck which uses the graveyard a lot.
Everything that kills you in the first 4 turns. Which can be a lot, depending on your meta. An early Phorphyry Nodes can be essential in those cases. A lot of hand disruption coupled with early creatures is also troublesome. Other than that Green hurts us due to high mana production to compensate for the additional mana cost to attack. And they have a lot of Enchantment/Artifact removal.

I would be very happy to hear what you think about this deck. If you know any card that would fit into this deck, please tell me! But keep in mind that this is a Budget deck, so no Ensnaring Bridge ;-). The Maybeboard consists of cards I considered but decided not to include.
