Description

Jund'em with poison counters and token generators. All suggestions welcome, as this deck is a rough draft and I know improvements can be made, I just have very little experience with -1/-1 and poison counters and how to maximize their use.

This deck has a few nice combos in it to really try to make things ridiculous Soul-Scar Mage and all the infect/poison counters can interact with Nest of Scarabs, Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons, Parallel Lives, and Doubling Season to flood the board. Triumph of the Hordes can give creatures infect to rush an opponent to 10 poison counters.

I also have a few cards to fetch permanents quickly to make these combos happen, along with a threat of Skittles ( Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon ), Flameblast Dragon, and other big creatures to put some heat on their board. A combination with Vampire Hexmage and Hex Parasite with Dark Depths is a really nice way to drop Marit Lage on the field in a single turn, too. Another quick big drop is when I have a lot of counters of any type on the field and then play Thief of Blood .

Thanks! I'm really looking forward to making this deck happen for casual play with multi-player commander.

Updates

Removed Adun Oakenshield . Added Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder.
Added new lands to cover blue.
Added Blighted Agent.
Changed deck name to Chaos with Counters and Tokens

I'm guessing Anointed Procession isn't meant to be in the deck. Looks really fun though! I'm building Saskia with -1/-1 counters myself, and this is giving me some ideas :)

Yay! I'm glad to hear that. I look forward to seeing it =)

I was hoping to use Anointed Procession's effect along with Doubling Season to increase token generation with Nest of Scarabs and Phyrexian Swarmlord. But since I already also have Parallel Lives, should I replace Anointed?

It's a great card for what you want to be doing for sure! Problem is, the colour identity of the card does not match that of your commanders.

Wow... I can't believe I didn't immediately see that O_O'''. That's embarrassing.

I have an infect deck in green/ black/ white that might be useful even thou it also reanimates Pain always comes back

I would think the infect would be counter intuitive to use in a Kresh deck. It looks like it could be effective under most commanders, simply because of the poison damage, but I might have swapped him out for any of the other Jund commanders or even cut the red for Golgari. Considering he gets +1/+1 = the power of a dead creature, I would imagine killing creatures off with -1/-1 is going to give you 0 counters on him most of the time. If you have had good experience with this deck list that goes against my thought process though please let me know!

He's the only Jund Commander I have. I was thinking Adun would be better but I don't have him >.>

He's alright if it's your only Jund general but if you want to keep up the tokens, I would suggest working towards a Prossh, Skyraider of Kher deck. Otherwise, neat deck

This lacks focus.

When you look at a deck, it should be very easy to decipher what it is you want to do.

For example: Hapatra puts counters on things. And this Jund guy reanimates things.

Not so great with infect.

For a truly BRUTAL infect strategy, what I think is stronger and more deadly than Skittles, is either Saskia the Unyielding, my personal favorite general for infect edh, or another all-star for infect, Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder.

Both of these generals have jund, but more. the extra color palate can allow you to play cards like Anointed Procession, and you can get either one of those pre-cons for less than the commander you're using right now.

I'd give them a try.

SpookyToe: I know what you mean about Adun and I was thinking about one of them, instead, over the last day or so. Four colors is tricky, but over the last couple days I'm pretty sure I have enough multicolor lands to pick up the slack. It's just weird running 4 colors o.O

Thank you for that idea, though. It makes the decision a little easier. =)

Tainted Strike is a good card. People chump block infect damage but figure they can let regular damage through, then bam. In multi-player you can cast it on an opponents creature.

Not sure you have enough dragons to make Kilnmouth Dragon worthwhile, but you can get the same effect with Burning Anger.

Dictate of the Twin Gods could be an ugly surprise
