Pirates like treasure. And fighting. And boozing. And just generally making life difficult for everyone. I've seen treasure decks before and they're fun and all, but pirates are about more than just the booty; they're also egotistical, fierce, and give themselves over to their every whim (or so the movies have taught us). I couldn't figure out how to work boozing into the deck, but I feel their other traits are represented in spades.

The two win conditions are Revel in Riches and Cut / Ribbons. With all the treasure tokens you'll be generating, you'll either fulfill the requirements of Revel or you'll be able to swing for a massive amount of damage with Ribbons.

Various cards allow you to mess with your opponents (Heartless Pillage, Kitesail Freebooter, and Fell Flagship for example. Sword-Point Diplomacy allows your opponent to negotiate with you for their freedom, but we both know they're not getting out of this.

Other than that, it's a race to the treasure with your crew! Cut down anyone that stands in your way and Revel in your Riches!
