The first event at the shop, small turnout of 12 players not everyone has decks yet. diverse meta but a few repeater decks. there were red decks in the room but they were heavier on creatures and didnt do well i think direct damage is the way to go with a field of blockers. I did get lucky with favored match ups in the first 2 rounds and just getting all the removal i needed for the last 2 rounds which were both green devo variants. I think the meta gets rougher with more people noticing reds presence in the room.

Rnd 1 i played RW Feather and won 2-1. Granted i lent the person the feather deck, i know what was in the deck and i dont think its a great match up for feather/heroic. Not enough life gain. I just got there with removal and beat downs.

Rnd 2 I played against Jeskai Ascendency Combo and won 2-0. They admitted they didnt come prepared for burn, i expect people still dont know how to beat the red decks yet so i feel sideboards arent tuned for red yet. They almost went off but multiple eidolons make it harder for people.

Rnd 3 i played a teammate who i even lent cards to for their green devotion deck and i won 2-1. So i felt Green Devo. would be a popular and strong deck and it would do good. I even built my red deck with less creatures and more spells cause i cant get thru their blockers. In games 2 and 3 i would change the number of swiftspears and Eidolons depending on play or draw and i was jamming my removal spells from side. Ferocidon flexed hard.

Rnd 4 I played Simic Ramp and i won 2-0. i am not going to saying anything about this match up except for the fact that i beat a turn 2 Oko that was at 6, sure i was on the play. I also beat out a 10/10 krasis cause i had Ferocidon. Again bring in removal package from the side was a good call. They play too many blockers in the late and i need to pick them off to get in lethals.

Ferocidon was clutch, cutting soulscare mage after testing was the best thing ever. Fading GB matchup was huge. Lava Coils are clutch. I think me not playing a lot of creatures is huge cause theirs just a lot of board presence in this format. Turning on removal is big, sometimes stranding it in their hands is where i want to be. Bomat went Ham today.
