Highest Rated "Deck" —May 6, 2012

Even though its not legitimately a deck, it has become the highest rated on TappedOut. Thanks for the attention to the idea everybody! Good luck to everyone!

SpellskiteMTG Card: Spellskite. It is a 0/4 for 2 that redirects spells. It sets up mid to late game protection if you don't want to waste a counter, it kills RDW, it holds off fast hitting aggro, it redirects creature enchantments like Angelic DestinyMTG Card: Angelic Destiny and while good in control, it fits in any deck! Thats my vote!

1) user:Jace,%20the%20Mindsculptor - This guy is the epitome of continuous card advantage. His "menu" of ability options will always be relevant turn after turn. He can even win the game by himself if gone unchecked. This is also the only real planeswalker to be used in eternal formats. That is really saying something. His overall use in the past standard and eternal formats prove his worth and reliability. You'll most likely run these in any blue deck.

2) TarmogoyfMTG Card: Tarmogoyf - He's a monster in his own right. I love how it is in actuality just a beatstick. It's 1G for a 2/3 and up. He doesn't really do much besides being a very aggressively costed creature. His 100$ price tag my still indicate that he's still one of the best creatures in Magic history, if not the best.

3) ChannelMTG Card: Channel - Pay 1 life, get 1 colorless. Turn 1-2 Eldrazi? Count me in!

I guess being OP, I'd better put my opinion in too.

Force of WillMTG Card: Force of Will. Its a staple amongst Legacy/Vintage - with good reason. Being able to counter something for no mana with fairly little drawback is amazing. Not to mention the artwork is pretty cool and interesting as its predominantly red for such a blue-flavoured card.

BrainstormMTG Card: Brainstorm - Draw 2, put 2 on top of your library. Works wonders with alot of cards, including fetch lands. It also does wonders with the new miracle cards!

Oblivion RingMTG Card: Oblivion Ring - Deals with any nonland permanent on the field. A staple card.

Right then in my opinion the best card is Sensei's Divining TopMTG Card: Sensei's Divining Top this bad boy was printed UNCOMMON!!!! and now is like 15 and a must have in all formats it is legal, its is near impossible to get rid of and it gives you a nice way to organize your deck and pick out what you want or fetch that specific colour land you need. also its cost of 1 colourless to cast and use is insanely cheap. it literally fits in any deck and i love this card. if i had enough of them theyd b in every one of my edh decks! :-)

il give a second too. Demonic TutorMTG Card: Demonic Tutor this think is insanely good, one and black casting cost is mega cheap for a tutor with no draw back and no reveal of the card one black is easy to get even when splashed and the fact that it enables silly combos to happen much more efficiently breaks games alone. yesterday as an example opening hand in an edh game has Demonic TutorMTG Card: Demonic Tutor and Genesis WaveMTG Card: Genesis Wave and some land. so i keep it play a while play lands get a few bits and bobs some land fetch then i tutor for a Mana ReflectionMTG Card: Mana Reflection turn later i play Genesis WaveMTG Card: Genesis Wave where x is 20 land a Sarkhan VolMTG Card: Sarkhan Vol and loads of huge dragons along with In the Web of WarMTG Card: In the Web of War GG 5 player edh game your all dead INSANE shizzle happended because Demonic TutorMTG Card: Demonic Tutor very cheaply ignored random chance and let me simply win (sorry for the long explanation!!)

Do not be sorry for your explanation, in fact I'd prefer it if everyone had their own long opinions on their choice, haha. Gives me and everyone else more insight on cards. (:

@burkek Ah. Thank you for reminding me of another rule that I should've mentioned: Ante cards like Contract from BelowMTG Card: Contract from Below are pretty much illegal from everything so we should avoid those.

, Snapcaster MageMTG Card: Snapcaster Mage. Of course, I'm going off of a little bit more "personal favorites," as I don't often play outside the standard environment.

April 25, 2012 11:11 a.m.

Emrakul, the Aeons TornMTG Card: Emrakul, the Aeons Torn

15/15 that can't be countered, take an extra turn when you cast it, and then the brutal Annihilator 6 as well as pro colored spells, makes him deadly :3 Lets not forget, he's a flyer too! Combo it with Eldrazi ConscriptionMTG Card: Eldrazi Conscription for even more laughs.

Vesuvan DoppelgangerMTG Card: Vesuvan Doppelganger - It is the best creature on the battlefield, regardless of what comes later. This was one of my first Rares I ever drew. This card is why I love Magic as much as I do.

  1. TinkerMTG Card: Tinker, due to the fact that it will enable you to put any artifact from your library onto the battlefield for 2 mana. You could for example put a Blightsteel ColossusMTG Card: Blightsteel Colossus onto the battlefield really early.
  2. Show and TellMTG Card: Show and Tell, it's almost the same thing. It's an easy way to put fattys in to play. 3 mana Emrakul, the Aeons TornMTG Card: Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, yes please :)

Scratch another point up for Mr. Jace, the Mind SculptorMTG Card: Jace, the Mind Sculptor. I don't think I've ever lost a game where I resolved a Jace, and even if he died shortly afterwards, you're still so far ahead by that time that the game is pretty much over.

This poll is assuming none of us are going to include Black LotusMTG Card: Black Lotus, correct? Because that card is, in fact, the best card ever printed.

I agree with TinkerMTG Card: Tinker for one simple reason: turn 1 Blightsteel ColossusMTG Card: Blightsteel Colossus. It is actually possible to also give it haste...

I have to choose Elesh Norn, Grand CenobiteMTG Card: Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite bcause it's a constant one sided board clearer, and also boosts your own creatures.

Necropotence. It single-handedly broke the format of the day. They have released many cards since that have tried to valence the effect but every time they do it warps the format.

I am going to have to say Sensei's Divining TopMTG Card: Sensei's Divining Top and Sol RingMTG Card: Sol Ring. Nearly every deck that can play one of either of these cards does, and they create some brutal advantage.
