Open the Floodgate !

Take a minute to consider the power and the flavor of the unique wall, Floodgate . It is probably unlike any blue creature you've seen and it can be a serious threat in a game of Pauper Commander.

  1. Play Islands .
  2. Control the game with Counterspells and unsummon spells. Try to eliminate threats that Floodgate would be unable to deal with later.
  3. Play more Islands .
  4. Put Floodgate onto the battlefield, wait until the time is right, then wipe your opponents creatures by removing Floodgate from the battlefield.
  5. Play even more Islands .
  6. Beat your opponents the old fashioned way, with serpents !

The deck is outlined in order to highlight the interactions between Floodgate and the 99 other cards, but I have tried to include enough synergy in the build so that it doesn't rely solely on the commander. Here are some fun combos:

I am looking for suggestions; please leave feedback! Particularly if you have ideas on how to deal with opponents creatures that are blue or have flying.
