Patch's Blue Tempo v2

Standard Faeries Mono-Blue Tempo

Sideboard

My version of Mono Blue Tempo as of Ravnica Allegiance.

I've no copies of Chart a Course in the maindeck as this deck can't afford to tap out at sorcery speed. I've gone with one copy of Blink of an eye as it is expensive and not particularly efficient in the starting turns, but the utility and surprise make it worth a copy. Strongest start this deck has is an evasive one drop creature with a turn-two curious obsession protected with counter-magic. This is a very strong sequence and as such this deck has 12 one drop creatures to maximise the chances of this.

A lot of decks don't even have a two mana removal spell to punish you so it's worth being aggressive with this. If they do untap and kill it, fine. You've done two damage and the curious obsession has replaced itself. What a lot of people do with this deck is lean into the control part of aggro-control too much. You need to lean towards playing aggressively and getting damage in early on. Force them to have cards because the longer you leave it the more likely they are to have the answers. You are at a significant qualitative disadvantage in cards compared to most decks. This deck really rewards understanding your opponents deck and what cards they're likely to hold, taking into account their sequencing of lands and spells and reading between the lines when they appear to be thinking. Your own deck should be practiced until it is intuitive to you so that you can focus entirely on what your opponent is doing.

Updates Add

Clear the mind comes in against UR Drake decks. Removing their graveyard turns their giant fliers into 0/4's and makes Pteramander cost the full eight mana to adapt. The deck doesn't have much real card draw to refill the graveyard either so after this resolves their back is pretty much broken. It turns what should be a hard matchup into a much easier one.
