Pack Rat? More like Sac Rat.

Description

Rats n' stuff. Not very complex - ogre slumlords allow you to sacrifice rats without much of a downside, (since you get more rats), so there isn't much of a draw back late game when you're sacrificing them to either grant card advantage or wipe your enemy's board. The rate that pack rat can build up with the draw from altar's reap is insane.

(I realize that Pack Rat tokens will not survive with the Slumlord's ability)

Killing Wave has the potential to make some lols - if you only keep your Ogre Slumlord alive, all your rats will come back, while your opponents may be forced into board wipe.

Doesnt slumlord only give you free rats when you sacrifice the original (non-token) Pack Rat? Or are you referring mainly to the other Rat cards?

In my pack rat deck, I also run Veilborn Ghoul because you can keep discarding him to make rats, then bring him back to your hand again.

Also I like to add green so you can get Lotleth Troll which has the same synergy with the Veilborn Ghoul, as well as being another 2-drop you can reanimate with your Immortal Servitude. Green also gives you access to Grisly Salvage to help you find your rats / load up your GY, and other fun aggro two-drops like Strangleroot Geist.

Granted, these suggestions would take away from the flavor of the deck of being almost all rats, but Ive found theyre quite effective.

Even if your slumlord dies from Killing Wave or some other source, you'll still get rat tokens. They just won't have deathtouch. And Immortal Servitude X = 2 has some potential for lols. Nice _ -thumbs up-

actually kettchup If Slumlord were to die along with the entire board, he wouldn't get the rat tokens because of the way the card is worded. compare Blood Artist "Whenever Blood artist or another" and Slumlord's "Whenever another"

No there wouldn't be a rat token for the Ogre Slumlord itself, but if you control, say, the Slumlord and two Ravenous Rats and the board gets wiped, you get three 1/1 rat tokens.
