Overwhelming Recursion

I can understand why nearly every playgroup has at least one Muldrotha-player since its release. This card cries SYNERGY and ADVANTAGE within a colour pairing known for recursion, disruption, ramp and - of course - infinite combos. I tried to build the 99 around Muldrotha with as much permanents as possilbe to fit Muldrotha's ability. There are only 2 non-permanent cards, namely Life from the Loam and Primal Surge. While the last one would love to have only permanents in this list, LftL is just to good to pass up.

The fact that you want as much permanents as possible makes this deck unique. It was really fun to search for cards that you would never play in any other list as there are cards that fit the given role better (eg. you dont want to ramp with Burnished Hart in a green list when you have access to Cultivate). In my oppinion that is the reason why you wont go competitive with Muldrotha. You would loose the unique style as the list of your 99 would get a huge change.

Card Categories

As you notice i devided my 99 in custom categories. There are cards that fit multiple roles so you will find them in more than one category. Let‘s get into them:

Lands

Good joke, isnt it? Well, there is something to talk about. I want many basics. I can reuse my ramp cards more than in any other deck, so i wanna have enough basics to make use of them. Mana fixing should not be a problem while playing green. The count of Islands is lower than the others as blue is only a splash. Generally this is a golgari list.

Ramp

Ramping with permanents. Not as effective as other ramp spells but the fact that Muldrotha can reuse them gives a huge advantage. Dont run Cultivate or anything like this in here. Yes, it is one of the best ramp spells but you dont want it in here.

Removal

A good toolbox of permanents that can handle nearly everything. Beside creature removal there is artifact/enchantment removal, land destruction, graveyard hate and combo hate (cheers Jester's Cap). Creatures can be destroyed, bounced or forced to be sacrificed. Muldrothas ability makes every card here unbelievable powerful as it can be used over and over again.

Dredge

Not every card listed here are real dredge cards but each of them fill the same role: fill up the graveyard to get access to a variety of cards faster than other decks can do.

Tutor

Beside reusable tutor effects on cards (Sidisi, Undead Vizier, Rune-Scarred Demon, Survival of the Fittest) which are just great in Muldrotha there is Jarad's Orders which reads „search your library for any two creatures“ in Muldrotha. Last one is Primal Surge. Not really a tutor but it diggs so deep in this deck that it literally will find what is needed and can end games immediatly.

Recursion

A big recursion package brings consistence to this deck and helps managing the graveyard manipulation. Grabbing a Fleshbag Marauder multiple times from graveyard to play during a turn can get out of control very quick to mention just one common scenario.

Utility

The cards listed here help in different ways. Spike Feeder grants great lifegain which is really useful. With infinte combo online it gives infinite life and infinite +1/+1 counters to creatures. Diplomatic Immunity is like a Swiftfoot Boots on steroids for Muldrotha because it is untouchable itself. Last but not least there is the enabler for infinite mana into infinite everything you want (yepp, everything!): Deadeye Navigator and Peregrine Drake. these two creatures generate infinite mana when combined. with infinite mana get Muldrotha soulbounded to Deadeye - flickering Muldrotha will get new instances of Muldrothas ability everytime. That way all cards in the graveyard can be cast and reused/recast infinite times. Jester's Cap infinite times to exile all opponent‘s libraries - yes. infinite Acidic Slime or Fleshbag Marauder... you got it.

Crazy/Bombs

Different cards that can turn or end games. Gray Merchant of Asphodel is strong. Reused from graveyard over and over again or flickered with Deadeye Navigator makes him even more dangerous. Lord of Extinction fits well in a graveyard based deck and is a thread on its own. Sacrificed to Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord can oneshot opponents. Another great, funny and often unexpected overkill comes with Nature's Revolt into Massacre Wurm to blow all opponents lands up and do a decent amount of damage. I never play Nature's Revolt outside this combo as it is very dangerous for my own lands. Furthermore i destroy the enchanment immediatly after the combo did its work to get my own lands back in a safe position. You dont wanna loose your own lands to a well timed boardwipe while you have made them count as creatures. Last card is a pure chaos card: Zur's Weirding. in Muldrotha it becomes a one sided effect as Muldrotha doesnt care about getting cards discarded... and Muldrotha doesnt really care about revealing the hand if the opponents have to show if they have countermagic, graveyard hate or anything like that.

LoveMe

What is that??? Let me explain: During every game there will be situations where a player would like to attack target other player but hesitates to do so because there is anything on the field of the beloved target that would cause anything bad to happen. Best example is a little Vampire Nighthawk with deathtouch that would trade with an attacking commander. The cards listed here all fill that role. Opponents wont be able to attack me without collateral damage or some kind of waste for themselfs.

CallingForDaddy

Noticed Muldrotha‘s flavour text? Anything more to say? Daddy is here to help his child. Multani, Maro-Sorcerer is a powerhouse in multiplayer games on its own and can be devastating in combination with Jarad, Golgari Lich Lords sac ability too.
