My take on B/W tokens.
This is a version, which I have not seen yet on tapped out. Its main difference from most of the B/W token decks is playing Bitterblossom and the new Sorin, Solemn Visitor.
The core of the deck is the normal shell of every B/W token deck.
4 Inquisition of Kozilek + 3 Thoughtseizes in the mainboard provide quite efficient hand disruption.
We are also playing 4 Lingering Souls and 4 Spectral Procession as our token generators, 4 Path to Exile and 2 Dismembers and spot removals. Nothing new so far.
The difference is in the rest of the deck. The main difference is swapping Raise the Alarm for Bitterblossom. Why is that? Bitterblossoms are making new tokens forever, which means we are able to recover from boardwipes quite easily. But thanks to fetches and Bitterblossom, we probably will lose life pretty quickly. And that is where Sorin, Solemn Visitor comes. Not only he is making flying tokens, but his +1 is ridiculous in this deck.
The next difference is the presence by Timely Reinforcements in the main. It has two reasons: reason a) is burn - in the current meta, Burn is positioned quite well and is super aggressive. They abuse small creatures to fight us to our death and are supporting them with burn spells. This is where the Reinforcements come. Imagine a game like this: T1 Discard, T2 intagible virtue, T3 Reinforcements - not only we gain 6 life, because burn would have dealt quite a lot of damage to us, but we most probably get 3 2/2s because there will most likely be a Goblin Guide or Monastery Swiftspear on the other side of the table.
Reason b) is, that it can prevent us from dying to Bitterblossom, if we don't have any other source of lifegain.
And lastly, we have pump spells - intagible virtue, which is obvious and Zealous Persecution, which is great as it can serve as a kill spell as well. It is usually quite good against affinity and it can give us one more turn against the Splinter Twin deck.
And that is pretty much it. Now let's move to the sideboard.
3 Duress is against any combo/control deck.
2 Leyline of Sanctity against Burn, Scapeshift, Storm and so on.
1
Kor Firewalker
mostly against Burn.
2 Rest in Peace against Storm, Living End, Dredgevine..
2 Stony Silence against Affinity, R/G Tron,..
1 Timely Reinforcements against any aggro deck, against Burn..
1 Sundering Growth mostly against Splinter Twin
1 Torpor Orb to slow down Amulet Bloom (denying the ETB trigger of the Primeval Titan), against Splinter Twin...
2 Hero of Bladehold - This is the most interesting part of our sideboard. Because we play NO creatures mainboard, we are making Path to Exile, Dismember and other spot removals very, very inefficient which means they will most probably be sideboarded out. And that is where the Hero comes - it survives Bolt, Abrupt Decay, Anger of the Gods which means that it will probably stay alive on the field. On its own it can end the game in only 2 swings.
Reasons to play this deck
Good control package represented by discard spells
Most of the kill spells are inefficient against this deck
Good Abzan, Blue Moon, U/W/R, Affinity and any aggro match-ups
Fair match-ups against Twin, Burn, Living End, Bloom Titan and Tron
Good deck choice in the current meta
You make Liliana of the Veil laughably bad
You like the fact that there are NO creatures mainboard
Reasons to not play this deck
Quite bad match-up with Scapeshift, Boggles and Infect
You don't like token strategies
You like other versions of B/W tokens
Hope you guys liked my card choices and their explanations. Be sure to check out my other decks I made in the "My Other Decks" panel on the left. And also check out my other modern deck I am currently running:
