Hi everyone, so i've been trying to make a control deck for a while now and I decided to make a Standart one with some heavy Angels and some new cards of Kaladesh.

After some researching I found a video ( Big shoutout to LegenVD ) with the best one i've seen until now and it was my main inspiration to build this one.

This is a heavily played deck and it has a lot of black removals such as Grasp of Darkness or Ruinous Path and some White Board Sweppers like Fumigate or Planar Outburst to keep you alive until you play the Angels.

Win Condition

Meld Gisela, the Broken Blade with Bruna, the Fading Light is the best win condition in this deck, but you also got Archangel Avacyn  Flip, Linvala, the Preserver and some other flyers that can also help dealing some damage.

( Description Coming Soon )

Spells - Removals and Sweppers

And Live Fast is the a new option since Read the Bones is not available on Standart anymore. Same cost, same effect with the exception of the scry 2 and the energy counters that you won't need.

There's too many one-of's for the deck to be consistent. You need about 8 planeswalkers before any of the Oath of X cycle becomes good, and even then they're still meh.

The best route from here, is to pick some cards to focus more in on and double down with some cuts. You've got all the cards that B/W control usually runs, the amounts are just all out of wack.

The sideboard could benefit from some hand attack like Transgress the Mind, some deck attack like Lost Legacy, and some tempo plays like Authority of the Consuls.

Oath of Liliana is here just for the removal ability, but I can also get some bonus zombies what is not that relevant.

I added those cards to the sideboard too. Thanks :)

I have noticed many standard decks seem to have 4-14 planeswalkers in them so Ruinous Path for your sideboard could be good for you as long as it makes sense in your local meta.

I really think you need to pick and choose which spells and which creatures you can't live without. I haven't looked into this too much in depth, but it seems like in the early game you're going to get hit constantly with nothing to do about it, all your spells just cost too much. You should consider adding in some smaller cast creatures that also offer a sense of control, like Fairgrounds Warden for example. Don't stick to angels just because you labeled this an angel deck.

But do whatever you think is right, I'm only just getting back into standard after being in modern, so I'm not sure on too much. Good luck!

pandith Thx for your comment Im also a modern player and this is my second standart deck ever :)

I don't totally agree with you about the spells, I got 13 removals and all cost less than 3 mana so they are not that expensive. Thalia is also here to help at the beggining.

Fairgrounds Warden is a good option but I prefer to have some cheap removals to creatures.
