Spirit of the Labyrinth/Narset, Parter of Veils + Geier Reach Sanitarium, when your opponent has no hand, is a lock when looting in their upkeep. You draw for your turn, pass, loot with Geier Reach Sanitarium in their upkeep, you both draw and discard, but your opponent doesn't draw for their turn, and repeat. So in each cycle, you're drawing 2 and discarding 1, and your opponent is only drawing and discarding (they can't interact in between these actions).

Use Inquisition of Kozilek, Thoughtseize, Collective Brutality, Liliana's Triumph and Liliana of the Veil to empty your opponent's hand and lock them out with the combo. If you don't have the combo, the deck plays like a traditional attrition control deck.

Planeswalkers are useful for the additional advantage they give you in the lock. Sorin, Lord of Innistrad plays very well with Lingering Souls. Liliana, the Last Hope kills small creatures and returns Spirit of the Labyrinth from the graveyard. Narset, Parter of Veils and Sleight of Hand draw cards when Spirit of the Labyrinth is in play.

Nihil Spellbomb is in the main because there are a lot of graveyard strategies in Modern, and you'll be enabling them with your discard. It also draws you a card when digging for the combo. The same card be said for Cast Out. If you've got a Spirit of the Labyrinth out you can use these cards on your opponent's turn to still draw cards.

The sideboard is very equipped for bad match ups, such as Tron and graveyard based decks.
