The goal is to get Burning Vengeance
out and flashback my spells.
Just threw this deck together to burn some faces!
Cast Desperate Ravings and Faithless Looting to dig deep into the library for cards needed then dump flashbacks into the graveyard.
dever of secrets can put early pressure on.
Snapcaster Mage allows me to flashback any spell I have in my graveyard.
For life gain play Trading Post . You can discard a card and gain for life every turn for one mana.
That's a really great suggestion! Thanks! That can really be useful.
Burning Vengeance !!!!!!! Love it! Also nice add with Snapcaster Mage ! Only thing I might suggest would be Pillar of Flame that 2 damage for 1 is always great! :D Oh and some Ghostly Flicker s! That way you blink your Snapcaster Mage for extra flashback or even tapped land!
Thanks! I got a box of innistrad and really wanted to do a Burning Vengeance deck.
Needs a black source for Forbidden Alchemy 's flashback in case you have no Snapcaster in hand.
I think Chandra Ablaze would fit in here nicely, possibly better than Tibalt. Her +1 and -2 both put cards into the graveyard, and her final lets you cast as many red instants and sorcery from your graveyard without paying any mana. Aditionally, you can burn your opponents with her +1, whereas Tibalt requires you pump him twice (three times, if you want to keep him) before he can burn.
problem with chandra ablaze is that it isn't standard. maybe run a few creatures like Vexing Devil and Delver of Secrets Flip with Artful Dodge . automatic combat damage with Burning Vengeance 's 2 damage. plus, its really cheap
@w999
That's why I have them in my maybe board. Artful Dodge may be good if I add some creatures. Thanks.
Cool deck! I really think Vexing Devil has a place in this deck. It adds to the graveyard for Snapcaster Mage , and is just an awesome card in general. I'm not sure how much money you are willing to sink into this, but Bonfire of the Damned should be in any red deck that can support the price. Another thought is Thundermaw Hellkite . He clears the way for your flyers, and is almost guarenteed to get in for 5. Rolling Temblor may be a thought. Cool deck, I like it. +1
Vexing Devil 's are beautiful. You should definitely invest in a playlet
How about a Secrets of the Dead or two to fuel your machine?
That can be a great substitute for Brimstone Volley in my side board. Thanks!
I thought about a Burning Vengeance deck once! Never built it though.
I think you could try Past in Flames with converted cost 1 stuff like Thought Scour , Gitaxian Probe , Pillar of Flame , Unsummon .
WOW! I never knew about Past in Flames . I'll have to consider that!
Ummm, your land base is backwards if you plan on turn 1 delver. i play tested this deck 12 times, and only got it once. you only have 4 blue sources that dont enter tapped turn 1.
maybe Essence Scatter for creature decks as you have Negate for creature decks?
I just fixed my land to how I wanted it I just forgot to update it after putting in the delver. I don't use the play tester often but I play tested this exact version of this deck in cardboard today multiple times and hit every land I wanted because of all the draw power.
@w999
Yes, Essence Scatter is a good choice against creature decks. I'm thinking about adding Dissipate however, it's good against most spells and it exiles the card so it can't be targeted later down the road.
Runic Repetition is a must in a burning vengeance deck. Not 4 definitely, but 2 fits pretty nicely most of the time. card:Devil's Play, Geistflame are also nice burn spells that roll with flashback too!
Firewing Phoenix does not trigger Burning Vengeance as it goes from grave to hand and is not cast from the grave.
Cool little deck. Burning Vengeance always seemed to be a deck fun to play. If i could go with my little suggestion, Secrets of the Dead in main deck as card advantage can shift the balance in a game. There's also Snapcaster Mage whom i think might be wasted in this deck since most your spells have flashback already. When RtR comes out, you may wish to replace him with Goblin Electromancer
Also while i'm here, i'd really appreciate if you could review my own deck: They're coming by the millions. I'm trying to get as much feedback i can get to make it better.
I really like Goblin Electromancer but Snapcaster Mage can flashback a Pillar of Flame or Negate .
Faithless looting?
Funny thing is I just cut Faithless Looting because it gives me card disadvantage and I wanted a little more control.
Looks good but you need more black mana sources if you want to flashback Forbidden Alchemy . Maybe try running a few Drowned Catacomb s.
He's got Dragonskull Summit . I think he could use more than one though.
@TheOne4221 and Eskimole
I wiill be use 2x Dragonskull Summit till shock lands come out!
if you still want to play it me and my friends were looking at using Guttersnipe and maybe Hypersonic Dragon
oh and i was talking about Dryad Militant , didn't know tapped out has link yet
Runic Repetition can counter Dryad Militant as well.
Guttersnipe looks pretty cool. Guess I'm going to have to pull out the ol Geistflame .
For RtR add Guttersnipe (like everyone else has already suggested). It has insanely high damage output, especially if you're casting spells twice. Also, Izzet Charm over negate. It's pretty much negate or burn or dig to dump your FB cards. And personally I don't like the random discard of tibalt.
When rtr comes out I'm replacing the Negate with Izzet Charm . It is so versatile and good burn. I really like tibalt. He's very good as a discard outlet and takes heat of me til I'm set up. I just added Trading Post (did very well tonight!).
I might also suggest that you add Guttersnipe and Goblin Electromancer ! That was a fun combo for the prerelease sealed! >:D
