Hello! I'm a longtime commander player and this is my K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth suicide black deck. I know there's a lot of competitive K'rrik builds floating around, so let me know if you can see a logical upgrade that fits into the power level I'm aiming for here.

This used to be my deck Selenia, That Kills People! whose goal was to cheese people by dropping to negative life with Angel's Grace and firing off Repay in Kind . In exchange for losing access white mana, K'rrik sets up a similar game plan much more rapidly.

Suicide black: ramp, draw cards and profit Show

K'rrik lets us throw away our life total willy-nilly to get a whole bunch of the most important resource in Magic: mana. This deck has tons of rocks and other ramp engines, but K'rrik is by far the most ridiculous. Other notable cards that feed us tons of mana:

What do we spend all that mana on? Simple: We throw away our life even faster to get the next-most important resource, card advantage. The goal is always to draw a huge chunk of our deck, digging into either a source of sustained lifegain or a massive finisher spell to end the game.

How do we waste life drawing cards rapidly? With these card draw engines:

MASSIVE REPEATABLE DRAW:

Necropotence Probably the most powerful card in the deck since we're always able to slap it onto the stack immediately after K'rrik resolves.

Ad Nauseam Be careful, this deck isn't designed to draw all that many cards off Ad Naus. Keep 10-15 life to at least pay some of the mana costs.

The main (I think only) infinite combo in this deck is Bolas's Citadel + Sensei's Divining Top + Aetherflux Reservoir . Once Citadel hits the field, topdecked tutors can quickly assemble the other two pieces. Extra points for using Liliana Vess as an ersatz Vampiric Tutor to cheat the mana costs.

Infinite crud aside, this deck's main goal is to just kill everybody with big sweeping burn spells.

Lifegain engines Show

Gaining a couple of life really isn't that relevant when we typically drop to single digits by turn four or so. If we can't just win the game, then we have to gain a lot of life. Like, a lot. A whole lot.

Exquisite Blood I'm not playing Sanguine Bond because it's usually a pretty dead card outside of the combo. Exquisite Blood, on the other hand, is insane.

Mono-black has deep, well-defined weaknesses (primarily the inability to deal with problematic cards that aren't creatures.) I've done my best to put together a control package that at least attempts to mitigate those weaknesses, and lots of the cards are incredibly cheap once K'rrik's out. (Hooray for devotion.)

Nevinyrral's Disk It's super important for black to have at least one of these for clearing out artifacts/enchantments. I'd like to stack an Oblivion Stone as well.

Spine of Ish Sah Not an Oblivion Stone but still decent.

Unstable Obelisk Same rationale.

Warping Wail A really cruddy counterspell

Imp's Mischief A decent colorshift of Misdirection

Mire in Misery Silver bullet for enchantments and hexproof

Decree of Pain The cycling ability gives us some sort of uncounterable instant boardwipe. Not Cyclonic Rift but still.

Praetor's Grasp Because if our deck doesn't have the right answer to a problem, then maybe theirs does.

And finally, because something like half of our non-mana cards are instants and sorceries, I feel like I have to point out how good Deliver Unto Evil is for recurring instants and sorceries (although it can hit any other card type we need as well).
