I really love this commander. I've never seen it before. Very interesting that he is a Barbarian but he untaps Samurai.

Yeah the Samurai clause I wish was more abusable, but there are very few Samurai actually playing.

-Fumiko the Lowblood

-Ronin Cliffrider

-Taurean Mauler

-Mutavault

But this is really a voltron deck, little focus on creatures outside the Godo, thanks for the upvote though!

this deck needs some really big artifact creatures to cheat out. and make your mana ramp. ramp it up good. a 3rd turn godo with a 10/10 is better than a 6th turn godo with +6+6

Hi, I'm planning on building a Godo edh deck and I've got a couple questions/ideas.If your gameplan is to accelerate to Godo shouldn't you be playing things like mishra's workshop, mana crypt, mana vault, lotus petal, mox diamond, mox opal, lion's eye diamond, etc.? Also don't you think that sensey's divining top and umezawa's jitte are worth it?Also a question, what are the "clone" cards for?Anyway cool deck mate.

Hey thanks for the comment, I'm happy to answer your question.

The main two reason I don't run fast mana like Mana Vault, Mana Crypt, and/or Lotus Petal is cost. I'm personally not willing to spend more than ~$30 on a single card. If you have the budget though go crazy.

The clone cards like Heat Shimmer are simply there to act a conditional tutor as long as Godo is on the field. If you target him with one of the clone cards you receive a temporary token that will immediately die due to the Legendary rule, but you will still get Godo's ETB tutor trigger. Like many things in the deck, if Godo isn't on the field.

I had guessed it was because of budget reasons, wich I totally agree by the way. Still umezawa's jitte and some of the other swords (light and shadow; war and peace; body and mind) aren't that pricey and seem like a good fit.

I was also wondering if this list/deck is good for multiplayer, I mean you have a lot of raw power but against 2/3 opponents I'm not really sure.

The power level for multiplayer is definitely on par for a more casual group. Godo can easily kill one player, but when you have Godo suited up the game becomes very much 3v1 until Godo is gone. This is where playing politically, being faster than the rest of the table, and threat assessment. Trying to make alliences with opposing players, taking out the biggest threat first, and not being afraid to take someone out come in to play.

If that doesn't work out the deck has a minor "all in" sub theme with cards like Final Fortune and Fatal Frenzy which try to kill the whole table at once or die trying.

The Swords of X and Y I am very reluctant to add outside Feast and Famine (combo piece) and Fire and Ice. I Light and Shadow doesn't really add anything other than protection, Body and Mind just sucks all around, and War and Peace is just meh unless there is a control player on board. I might retry Light and Shadow simply for the relevant protection though.

Does that make sense? I'm on mobile so sorry for any errors.

Yeah it does make sense. Sword of body and mind and of war and peace are really subpar, and even light and shadow is only for the protection because the effects are really worthless in this deck.

Since you want to attack with godo as soon as possible I would recommend adding more things that give him haste but still do something: hall of the bandit lord only takes a land slot and is fine; flamekin village ditto; assault suit, necropouncer and obsidian battle axe give stats besides haste. Also mask of avacyn gives hexproof plus stats which is amazing.

Sorry for sugesting so many things, all of this sound good in theory but I'm not so certain when it comes to the equip costs.
