From Zedruu the Greathearted from the original commander precons, to Zndrsplt, Eye of Wisdom + Okaun, Eye of Chaos , Chaos has been an established archetype in commander. Typically found mostly in red, and blue as a secondary support color, chaos is like stax, but not at all like stax. Both throw the game for a loop and cause people to play with a very different set of rules. But stax just adds more rules and stops people from doing anything, we came here to play magic. Chaos throws all the rules out the window and makes up it's own. For this deck, that means that creatures smash into whatever they can and decimate face. Thantis, the Warweaver is the main engine for the deck, both forcing people to swing every turn and giving some discouragement for people who would want to swing at you. Her main strength is this first ability however. People will make enemies, people will make friends, and thats just the beginning. The rest of the deck comes in and suddenly random 1/1s and 2/2s can become deadly forces of nature. Cards like Tide of War , Bedlam , Grand Melee , Invasion Plans , Heat Stroke , and every good curse card, can completely mess with combat and cause random death wherever they go. But let's spice it up a bit. Possibility Storm , Lifeline , and Endless Whispers and mess up things like, you know, casting spells, and things dying. And you can abuse all of this death with things like Harvester of Souls , Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet , Deathreap Ritual , and so on. But you can also make enemies. Protecting your life total is key, so cards like Kazuul, Tyrant of the Cliffs , No Mercy , and Crawlspace help reinforce your commanders discouragement theme. Now like any deck you need to actually function, so ramp, card draw, and removal are all present, but slightly different. because you are casting large spells, cards that ramp you more than 1 mana are better, and things like Heartbeat of Spring , Mana Flare , Overabundance , Curse of Opulence , and Curse of Bounty are both political and ramp you mana. Cards like Wall of Blossoms , Smuggler's Copter , and Grenzo, Havoc Raiser get you card draw as the table smashes face. Removal like Beast Within and Royal Assassin / King's Assassin take advantage of the themes of your deck, as well as staples like Abrupt Decay or Hull Breach .

The deck is build on a budget, basically cutting any cards above the $10 range. First upgrade would be the land base, swapping some of the decent dual lands for fetches, shock, and maybe even original duals. In the rest of the deck, some non budget upgrades would be Mana Crypt , Imperial Seal , Vampiric Tutor , Worldly Tutor , Bitterblossom , Demonic Tutor , Grim Monolith , Mana Vault , Sylvan Library , Three Visits , Chandra, Torch of Defiance , sensei's dining top, every sword except war and peace, and Wheel of Fortune .
